Convergence has eliminated the collapse of the multiverse in the original Crisis on Infinite Earths — and has apparently undone every DC reboot since.

Because of the events in Convergence #8, just about every Earth that was ever published in DC history appears to now "still exist" — and stories from those worlds can now be told in continuity.

Yes thats right previously destroyed universes are now back into existance.

To prevent the Multiverse from collapsing into one again Braniac sends pre-crisis Supergirl and Flash back to their deaths to save the multiverse but this time with Parralax who wants a chance for redemption and Post-crisis Superman. Brainiac tells all of them that they must prevent the collapse of the multiverse that happened in Crisis on Infinite Earths. "Then everything will reset and return to what it was before I brought you here."

They suceed! Crisis on Infinite Earths is now undone and as a result of the prevention of Crisis on Infinite Earths, Brainiac says that all worlds from the past still exists.

Everyone that was trapped in the city domes are now retuned back to their homes.

As the comic ends, it becomes clear that every Earth from DC's history is up for grabs, any creative team can create stories on any former DC Earth.

So what does this mean for the future of DC comics and what do you expect to happen in the future?

The fuq?

I hope the films never get crazy like this.

I like a little dimension/multiverse travel, but Convergence and Secret Wars are just too much.

I am so confused. But hey if we get continuations of old universes, I'm all for it.

Cluster[frick]:[noun]- A disastrously mishandled situation or undertaking.

Not saying it's a cluster[frick], there's just a lacking of better words. I thought the New 52 was created to specifically not have all of this?

@DinoRanger, that's kinda awesome. This means the writers will have more freedom to write the stories they want?

As long as Wally West returns, I don't care.

PreNew 52 here we come. I hope this means DC will bring back comics for both the Pre New 52 and New 52. This way for people like me, who prefer the old universe can read comics from that universe and people that like the New 52 can read those comics. The cool thing also Kingdom Come would now be canon.

I am so excited about the potential of being able to read a Wally West comic in 2015+.

@gentlemanlybatman nah this feels more like crisis than new 52 with the addition that they are grabbing the better selling and better written characters from their alternate universe titles and bringing them into the fold. And the DC development is definitely interesting but it could get really complicated.

If COIE was averted then the new 52 should not exist.

I stopped reading comics about 2 years ago, but if pre-New-52 Superman is back, I'm all in.

Wait so they all came together only to separate again?

Also nice to see grifter again, and I like how the flash is now basically the central character in all of the important universe altering story arcs

This is actually a great concept which, in the right hands, could work really well and give DC a nice niche over Marvel.

I can't wait to see how the whole multiverse concept plays out in CW's The Flash.

@DinoRanger that means multiversity is irrelevant.
