Next month, a new age of vampire hunting begins in the pages of Marvel Comics' Blade

The Daywalker will return in this all-new ongoing solo series written by Bryan Hill (Killmonger) with art from Marvel's Stormbreaker Elena Casagrande (Black Widow).

Blade's latest saga kicks off when he unknowingly unleashes a dark, ancient power that’s been simmering for centuries. Known only as the Adana, Marvel’s entire supernatural underworld will be thrown in turmoil and it’s up to Blade to handle it - or pay a pound of flesh for his mistake!

Marvel Comics says we should "get ready for bloodbaths and blackmail" as Hill and Casagrande look to return Blade to his gory glory.

"Blade is a treasured character for me," Hill recently revealed. "Here, we have an opportunity to explore his history, reveal new aspects of his world and create a story that’s brutal, sexy, and bold as it travels into the world of monsters and magic."

It's said that Blade #1 will provide an ideal entry point into the saga of this horror and pop culture icon whose starpower is set to grow even larger in the years ahead. That's thanks to the upcoming Marvel Studios movie starring Mahershala Ali, though its release date recently shifted to February 14, 2025 (the latest in a long line of delays).

Going back to this comic book, however, we have some amazing variant covers to share with you by Frank Miller, Kaare Andrews, David Marquez, and John Tyler Christopher. You can also see some interior artwork by Casagrande.

Blade #1 goes on sale on July 19, and a special prelude comic is coming to Marvel Unlimited later this summer titled Blade: First Bite Infinity Comic! In that, the hero is forced to confront secrets from his past in order to find answers about his future in this revelatory plunge into the character’s history from Hill and artist Mack Chater.

Embarrassing.
Just like all Marvel output since Disney bought them.

This looks like more 'Wanna BE MCU' shit.

What a joke Feige is.

@TempleRod - Yeah... the guy behind the most financially successful movie franchise ever is such a joke... We don't even know how MCU's Blade is gonna look like yet. Without the MCU would we even be getting a series about a great character that is often overlooked in comic books?

@TempleRod - What about this looks like the MCU?

Just curious where you're getting that from.

@WruceBayne - People are constantly ragging on John Romita jr., when it comes to once great artists whose output has gone downhill, but even the worst of his modern work looks better than Miller's best recent work.

@WruceBayne - Dude, that first cover is one of the ugliest pieces of art I've ever seen in my life.

I really don't like Frank Miller's art past the times he did his own work. It worked on 300, largely because he had someone paint each background like a skilled artist. The Dark Knight Returns worked because Miller TRIED for a little bit of realism.

Most of his other work, in my opinion, looks like crap. Any D-art student could do better. Im glad the rest of the comic was done by someone else. But I feel like Blade looks too thin in this. I get that he's supposed to be a bit more about martial arts, but I thought he should be a bit bigger than this.

@Demigods - I thought Miller's work was good in Sin City also. For some reason it really got that world and the aesthetic they were going for.

Is it just me or does the positioning of the swords compared to the hands look goofy?

And does he look like he fused with Etrigan from DC??
