Angela originally existed in Todd McFarlane’s Spawn universe but came into the Marvel Universe sporting her original 90’s design in 2013. Then after Jason Aaron's Original Sin Angela learned that she is the daughter of Odin and an Angel of the Tenth Realm. In light of this revelation her new design will embrace her Asgardian heritage.

Series editor Wil Moss also chimes in on the redesign explaining some of the the armors features.

"Angela’s new costume is an enchanted artifact whose appearance changes to fit the person wearing it. So this is basically a representation of Angela’s inner self. She may no longer be an Angel of the Tenth Realm, but the wings on this costume -- which are actually formed from the liquid gold metal of her Ichor blades -- indicate at least some part of her still considers herself one of them. Working from rough ideas from Kieron Gillen, Phil Jimenez wonderfully brought this new outfit to life, giving Angela a powerful and elegant new look."

However, the old one was a hit, imho.

Snotzo - Agreed, although I do like this design (well most of it). Hopefully we'll get the old one back, or maybe a combo of it.

So they're complaining how there's the lack of female characters in the DC books. Can I be the one to complain there's too many women in the Marvel books? I mean I believe there's three members of the X-Men now that are actually men.

It's okay. I miss the long, flowing hair, though.

It's bad politics, cover all the characters.
Ms. Marvel, Spider Woman, Gamora and now the victim is Angela.
DC at least don't make these mistakes anymore.

Good luck to the artists who get to draw her,not a real strong look in my opinion.

Huh, I like everything about it except the hair. Just me, I've always had a problem with scantly dressed superheroes so this is a welcomed change.

I looooove any character design with giant oversized angel wings so I am lovin this look! My main gripe with it would be the hair, as others have already stated. Idk, its just too.....puffy....give it less volume and we're good.

Also, LOL @ the people who hate the new look, then say the older looks were better (cause she covered up here and basically naked in old looks. @Snotzo even provided the picture! lol btw your avatar matches the Angela pic you just posted quite well)

also, i HOPE she is in Ragnarok! It would add a nice element of badass sister killin shit and being all sexy. She would be like a "Sexy, badass version of Loki except ppl should fear her more cause she gets shit done whereas Loki just likes to bs and whine to his bro."

DO IT!!! PUT HER IN THE MCU!! DOOO IIIITTTTTTTTT!!!!

If she is in Thor 3 Ill have a reason to see the movie, cause I have no real interest in another thor movie.

But I still dont like her existing in the marvel universe, she is a spawn character. Apart from the awful hair, this design is ok

Yeah, she'll just lose those wings.

Cool, but what's with there being actual clothes~? Do they not get what the appeal of Angela is?

Pervey jokes aside i genuinely loved the last design with the big belt and such, was very classic Final Fantasy- esque. This one is one of those costumes that should feature for like an arc before disappearing again- like Spider Armour, it's cool, but doesn't suit the character in long run.

The physics of female armor is: the less you wear, the more it protects.
