COMICS: Bruce Banner Is Returning For Horror-Themed THE IMMORTAL HULK Series

Despite being killed off during the critically panned Civil War II, Bruce Banner is finally set to return to the Marvel Universe in a horror-themed comic featuring some awesome covers by Alex Ross...

It's been a weird few years for The Hulk. While the big screen version of the character is overwhelmingly popular, Marvel has struggled to come up with a solid idea for his comic book adventures, leaving fans to follow multiple iterations of the hero before Bruce Banner was murdered by Hawkeye in Civil War II. However, the real deal is now finally going to make his long overdue return.

"When night falls across the Marvel Universe its heroes must be extra vigilant because that’s when the monsters come out; both the human and supernatural kind," reads a description released by Marvel for The Immortal Hulk. "This summer
though a new monster with incredible strength will lay claim to the night. During the day this savage creature will be chained inside the psyche and fragile physical form of a human, but when the sun goes down the savage and undying brute will run free."

Sounds pretty cool, right? Bruce's resurrection will reportedly be addressed in Avengers #684, leaving this series as a fresh start for fans who don't want to be weighed down by various event stores and tie-ins. Al Ewing is on writing duties and he'll be joined by Joe Bennett. The covers, meanwhile, will be provided by Alex Ross and you can take a look at the first of those below. Pretty cool, right?

The Hulk's return will hopefully pay off for Marvel because the Jade Giant is in desperate need of a decent series which won't shake the status quo up every six months. Will you be picking this one up?

I'm conflicted about this...
On one hand, i don't like it cause he's been dead since yesterday.
On the other...this is how you disrespect Bendis' shitty work on CW II, which is always good.
At least now they will stop using Zombie Hulk, like they did in UA and then SE! :D
Wake me up when they bring back Nat, fellas.
Nowdays EVERYONE comes back from the grave.

@Doomsday8888 - Hulk can't be killed and never died.

@DoubleD - "Hulk cant be killed"

Well....yes he can, if you kill banner he dies, if you kill hulk quick she dies.

DoubleD - 2/28/2018, 3:07 AM
@InfinityCipher - Can't kill Banner either he has Hulk blood and is a Immortal himself. Banner killed himself in Thor Ragnaork and came back.

@Doomsday8888 - Even in the Marvel movies Banner said he has killed himelf and and has failed.
CaptainElrond
CaptainElrond - 2/28/2018, 3:10 AM
@DoubleD - No no, banner was still alive then, you stay alive for a few seconds if you break certain legs. And as long as you stop hulk from haveing to regenarate (I.E) kill banner, you should be fine.

@Doomsday8888 - That is true but since the Hulk's first appeared its been that way from day 1

The very first comic book Stan Lee wrote, Lee Made Hulk and Banner Immortals
CaptainElrond
CaptainElrond - 2/28/2018, 3:15 AM
@Doomsday8888 - Technically nearly all these guys can die, even wolverine isnt immortal. But as deadpool says there "real power is popularity"
DoubleD
DoubleD - 2/28/2018, 3:17 AM
@InfinityCipher - They always kill Banner or Hulk but just to come back later Stronger and Angier. It's not being a Fan Boy it's know who Banner/Hulk is. Do some home work

Both are Immortals

@InfinityCipher -
Ain't that the truth!
DoubleD
DoubleD - 2/28/2018, 3:21 AM
@InfinityCipher - Wolverine isnt a Immortal but the Hulk is and always has been a Immortal. And gets Stronger

Banner/Hulk will live even when time stops
CaptainElrond
CaptainElrond - 2/28/2018, 3:25 AM
@DoubleD - If someone gets killed, then they arent immortal, he died multiple times already. Also have you not read the comics where hulk has killed over characters like him, like the abomination?
CaptainElrond
CaptainElrond - 2/28/2018, 3:26 AM
@DoubleD - No he wont. Read the end of hulk, or learn about maestro, all versions of him age, and eventually die.

ALbiet hundreds of years more than normal.
DoubleD
DoubleD - 2/28/2018, 3:26 AM
@InfinityCipher - The Grandmaster could of used the mud stick on Banner and turned Banner into a Puddle but with a period of time Hulk would return. One day, a month maybe 6 moths but Banner and Hulk would return their both Immortals.
DoubleD
DoubleD - 2/28/2018, 3:29 AM
@InfinityCipher - Dies for short period but always comes back. Dying only make him stronger and angier
CaptainElrond
CaptainElrond - 2/28/2018, 3:30 AM
@DoubleD - You say i should do my homework, but i gave you mutkiple examples like

Civil war 2 (shot by hawkeye)

Old man logan (ripped from the inside)

Deadpool kills the marvel universe (head chopped off)

Maestro (gamma bomb kills him)

And multiple what ifs.

And finally hulk the end

Now i know some of these are elseworlds, but, but!!! most of these are pretty much alternitive futures or identical to the normal mcu.
CaptainElrond
CaptainElrond - 2/28/2018, 3:31 AM
@DoubleD - True, he comes back, but that isnt really a power, its just luck he comes back.

"The Grandmaster could of used the mud stick on Banner and turned Banner into a Puddle but with a period of time Hulk would return." I doubt it, as hulk in this universe was about to be engulthed by chautari.
DoubleD
DoubleD - 2/28/2018, 3:33 AM
@InfinityCipher - ALL THOSE DEATH's AND HULK ISNT TRULY DEAD he will returned but Stronger and more pissed off
CaptainElrond
CaptainElrond - 2/28/2018, 3:36 AM
@DoubleD - No he didint. He never returned in old man logan, or deadpool kills the marvel universe, or hulk the end. Thus why its called HULK THE END!!!

Also im pretty sure he was a zombie in civil war 2.
DoubleD
DoubleD - 2/28/2018, 3:41 AM
@InfinityCipher - From day 1 Hulk and Banner are the strongest and can't be killed. Their Immortals. HULK ONLY GETS STRONGER

The character was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, and first appeared in The Incredible Hulk #1 (May 1962). Throughout his comic book appearances, the Hulk is portrayed as a large green humanoid that possesses superhuman strength and invulnerability, attributes that grow more potent the angrier he becomes.

@DoubleD - You are ignoring my original good sir, i gave you quite a few examples of hulk dying and staying dead for quite a good long while.

Also why copy and paste the first paragraph from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hulk_(comics) Why are you looking the wikipedia bro. Use your comic knowledge.

I LOVE IT!
Always liked the idea that the Hulk was a type of Frankenstein monster/Mr Hyde/werewolf creature. The new status quo sounds great. I hope it will feel like the old TV show, or even a EC comic!
