Avengers: Rage of Ultron is set in the Marvel Universe, and is scheduled to be released to coincide with Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron next April. Marvel have today released the cover for the original graphic novel, along with comments from Rick Remender on what it may tell us about the story. "[The] cover holds a ton of secrets. There are Avengers from two different eras, and the story takes place in both of those eras. The positioning of the characters holds a deeper meaning than anyone will be able to guess until they read the series as well. This is some of Jerome and Dean's best work and the story promises to be nothing short of Earth shattering for the Avengers. And Starfox. Don't forget Starfox." Thoughts on this first look at Avengers: Rage of Ultron?

I don't like Vision's look here but the cover is awesome. I wish we had a bit more of this vibe going on in the movies, approaching the more realistic tone of Iron Man 2009.

Hank Pym / Ultron we will never see

@kinghulk- Around the same time as AOU.
@PymParticle- I see where you were going, however, his name is pronounced Fy-gee. I used to thing it was pronounced Fage, as well. Then I heard it said in an interview.

Overall, I love this. But, does anyone else thing that the Vision's face look funny?

Thank [frick] Vision's finally got a halfway decent costume. His original one looked like shit along with every other costume that tries to blend red, yellow and green.

Remender's call out of Starfox is interesting. What if it's in preparation for the next Guardians movie? I could imagine him as a comedic foil to Starlord when it comes to the ladies as well as playing off the similarity in their codenames.

Quote me on this prediction later:

Ant-man is connected to Age of Ultron.
They will pick up the thread of the Mandarin set up in "All hail the king" in Age of Ultron.

Totally agree. Book it. Done. Ties up everything nicely too as Starfox is Thanos's brother. Family drama.

Now which aging lothario will they cast?

"Is set in the Marvel Universe"

So there is just one now? No more Ultimate or 616? It is all just the MCU world? That makes sense. Kill it quick and mercifully instead of letting the comics die slowly and painfully.
