COMICS: Cyclops Alive After Schism; Nightcrawler Set to Return As A Member Of X-Force?!

With fear mounting that Cyclops would die at the end of "Schism," the cover for Uncanny X-Men #1 seemingly reveals otherwise! PLUS: The latest teaser from Marvel features the return of...Nightcrawler?!

Despite the release of Schism #3 yesterday, it's still not clear what exactly causes Cyclops and Wolverine to come to blows and form two factions of X-Men. After hints from the editorial team behind the mutant focused line of books at Comic Con that Cyclops' fate was uncertain, along with the fact he's been missing from the recent teasers, many started to worry that this meant he'd not live through the ongoing event. Well, that thankfully doesn't seem to be the case!

UNCANNY X-MEN #1

Variant Cover by FRANK CHO
Regenesis Blue Variant by DALE KEOWN
Blank Variant Cover available
X-MEN REGENESIS

After the Schism, UNCANNY X-MEN starts over at #1. What is to become of XXXXX and the mutants who side with XXXX after the big split? And what does it have to do with the resurrected Mister Sinister? The hottest new writer in the business, Kieron Gillen (THOR) and superstar Carlos Pacheco (X-MEN: SCHISM, ULTIMATE AVENGERS) bring you the biggest and baddest X-Men you’ve ever seen.

Well, well, well...look who's back from the dead! Or not. My guess is that the Nightcrawler below is in fact the one from the Age of Apocolypse timeline, who has recently been featured in the "Dark Angel" saga in Uncanny X-Men. What do you guys think? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

Hmm He's got the Crimson Dawn Mark Psylocke had in the 90's after Sabertooth pretty much raped and killed her.

I love it. Uncanny X-Force is a great title. Glad to have AoA Nightcrawler in the mix.

I'm glad about this. Killing Kurt was dumb in the first place. But I hope it's AoA Kurt because I'd rather see an alternate then another stupid resurrection.

@ skot

Sabretooth didn't rape psylocke, lol. He just beat her within an inch of her life. lol, geez man.

anyway, thats definately AoA Nightcrawler.

In Uncanny Xmen, I think I see Magneto, Emma, and Rockslide.

Also, in an interview a couple months back, Kieron Gillen said that Cyclops' X-Team would be one of the most powerful team of X-Men ever assembled. Can't wait to see who all is on his team.

So everyone is agreed this is not the 616 nightcrawler...but Kurt from the AoA universe!?

Good Im glad..

and that might be the Unstoppable Collossus in the back, just to the corner of Cyke's left hip.

@ supersomething

definately. The eye mark matches his exactly, and with them being stuck in the AoA world right now, it only makes sense. :)

Its gonna be weird not having Wolverine on X-Force. He was written the best, and most correct in that book.

CorndogBurglar - 8/19/2011, 7:13 AM
@ della

Gillen said its the most powerful X-Team ever. So think powerhouses.

I think Storm is a given considering the cover of the issue with her and Cyke kissing. Plus she's extremely powerful.

@ della

if Colossus is there, its a good bet Kitty is there too
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 8/19/2011, 7:15 AM
oh, and the lightning in the back is kind of a giveaway for storm also
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 8/19/2011, 7:20 AM
And whats up with that other Uncanny X-Men #1 teaser that only showed Emma? i guess that means Emma is on the team too.

So i would say

Cyclops, Emma, Storm, Magneto, Colossus, and Kitty

looks like there's two more in this pic though

CorndogBurglar - 8/19/2011, 7:20 AM
haha, Morph would be awesome

@dellamorte1872

Not Beast, he actually hates Scott right now for the whole X-Force thing. He also blames Scott for Nightcrawler's death
AlcoholicA
AlcoholicA - 8/19/2011, 7:47 AM
@dellamorte1872

I'm assuming, I haven't seen anything to think otherwise. Beast is helping the X-Men in Astonishing X-Men, but Cyke isn't there and they even mention something about how that makes it easier for Beast.

@ noregrets

"because we know for sure now that 616-Victor is dead and gone to hell."

and i'm real sure that will last forever. I don't know if you read Wolverine's regular series, but if you did, when Wovlerine is storming through the Red Right Hand's mansion, Wolvie came into a tropy room full of stuff from his past, and they had Sabretooth's head in a case.

But yeah, anyway, he'll be back at some point...

X-Force is by far one of the best books Marvel has right now and i can only see it getting better, AOA Nightcrawler is awesome good move to put him on the team now if only they will put Warpath back on the team

okay, so if that is AoA Nightcrawler, how did he get into mainstream continuity? I don't recall him coming over at the end of AoA, as the "Dark Beast" and X-Man did.
