COMICS: First Look At Artwork And New Details For AVENGERS & X-MEN Event, AXIS

Rick Remender is set to pen a Marvel event this Fall which will seemingly see the Avengers and X-Men unite to battle the Red Skull and a new team of villains which includes Carnage, Doctor Doom, Green Goblin, Loki, and more! Hit the jump for a first look at artwork by Jim Cheung.

This fall, the Avengers, the X-Men, the deadliest villains in the Marvel Universe and more will face a challenge like none they've ever experience in Axis, a new event written by Rick Remender!



It almost sounds as if these villains will have to fight alongside the Avengers and X-Men, but it's hard to tell as of right now. What do you guys think the challenge mentioned above could be?

That cover looks awesome EXCEPT for the Earth-anized version of Loki.
(yes i know he's made appearances like this already: IT'S STILL LOOKS STOOOPID!)

Ok I get Red Skull/Onslaught, Loki and Doom but why are the Carnage, Sabertooth and Green Goblin there? Seriously neither three are on the level of the latter 3. Goblin is much more threatening as himself (if that's Norman) a la Dark Avengers. Carnage is too low of a player to be anything to Loki, Doom or Red Skull, same goes for abertooth. Sabertooth I would assume would be in the mix to fight Logan but....they're killing him off soon IDK. And why is isn't Domaru and Magneto among this AXIS. If the AXIS is the villains answer to Illuminati??

Loki looks pathetic. Carnage is a piss poor Venom reject.
I am interested in how/why Red Skull is wearing Onslaught armor.

Will someone PLEASE make Dr. Doom defeat all these bad guys & take over the world already.
He's the baddest mo-fo & Marvel has yet to give Doom his due.

If this wasn't spinning out of Remender's Uncanny Avengers I'd want no part of it, but everything he's done with that book up to this point has been awesome. The real question is what's going on down there in that "reflection"? Cause that doesn't match the image on top.

Ever since the Red Skull grafted a part of Prof X's brain on his mind It gave him abilities of Xavier. Guess Onslaught was part of that package....
