Mike Allred's style of art is really a love letter to the pulp comic classics. Joe Quinones illustrates in a similar, yet unique way to Allred's. I think it may be too clean and simple for people who grew up enjoying the darker, sketchier artwork from the 90's and early 00's. Maybe there's not enough lens flares and layered gradients for these readers. Then again, these readers probably can't appreciate talented artists such as Chris Samnee, Paolo Riviera, Marcos Martin, etc. I feel that the art is a breath of fresh air that is rarely seen in Big Two comics. It's a shame that readers allow themselves to mock genuinely excellent comic book form. Then again, these folks don't have a job illustrating books written by top writers at Marvel, do they?
