The first cover is too violent for a Spider-Man comic - unnecessary and gratuitious!

I agree with Ancar, it doesn't fit a Spidey book, even though I think the illustration itself is extremely well done.

uh oh... looks like ole Spidey is pissed. He can lay one helluva beatdown when he gets mad enough.

Okay, I missed something here- when did the Lizard murder Billy Connors?

Holy **** Lizard ate his own son? This is the first I've heard of it... woah. If COnnors ever comes back, he will almost certainly kill himself, how could he live with that?

Out of curiosity how many times has Connors transformed himself into the Lizard cause I'm thinking maybe it's about time he tries a different formula that doesn't consist of reptilian genetics. I know, I know, it's the whole growing his arm back, but surely there must be another way.

he ate his own kid???
i am so glad i don't buy comics anymore, that's gratuitous shock-factor story telling that I won't support with my dollars. ........not to be too insulting but that reads more like something DC would do.. they love knocking off kids there!..anybody seen Red Arrow's daughter?

and they killed off Silver Sable? boo. depressing times.

Why didn't they make the movie Lizard look like that instead of a friggin' goofy goomba?

Comic looks good. Spider-Man has always been my favorite superhero (you can probably guess that from my profile pic) and the Lizard was always one of my favorite villains (I've always liked reptiles). From the little I've read, it looks to be a pretty dark and gritty comic. Spider-Man may not be as dark of a character as Batman, but he still has had his share of dark storylines (Torment, Clone Saga, the Other). I like this version of the Lizard much better than the movie version, but this one below is my personal favorite.

MadJakHatesSpinoffs,I just bought that comic at my local shop for a buck! Small world.

Anyway, Lizard is a great villain and I hope he is done justice, since Doc Ock is the only villain on screen I have thoroughly enjoyed in a Spidey movie! Can't believe it's only what, ten days away?

When Parker said that "Cause as of today... Everything changes!" does that mean that our friendly neighbor Spidey is gonna be killing baddies now? :3

-- he eats his son in half while screaming at his reptile brain in his own head until he literally eats through and shreds his narration boxes as his consciousness completely shuts down, unable to deal with the horror of watching himself eat his own son.

@signofthetimez, yes, Web of Spider-Man 110-111 was a great Lizard storyline and is my personal favorite drawing of him. The movie Lizard looks more like Killer Croc.

@MadJakHatesSpinoffs Yeah man that version looks great. I'll have to pick up 110 soon. I still can't stand the look of Lizard in TASM. Hopefully I'll warm up to him when I see the actual film, but yeah I'll definitely be there release day! :)
