We heard whispers a couple of weeks ago, and now Marvel has seemingly confirmed the return of Wolverine in May's X-Men: Blue #4.

As you can see, the cover features the iconic mutant's clawed fist in the foreground as the Blue Team team looks on in shock.

We haven't seen Logan since the "Death of Wolverine" arc back in October of 2014, and although this hasn't been officially announced as the character's resurrection, this cover and the solicit (SNIKT. SNIKT. SNIKT.) certainly suggest that ol' Canucklehead will be back to reclaim the mantle of Wolverine from X-23.

Well that is crappy artwork. Is that what passes for comic book art these days, or is that just promo work?

@Pathogen - Art Adams is one of the best in the business. I don't think I've ever heard of his artwork described as "crappy".

@Dotanuki - always annoys me when people talk crap about artists. Yeah, they may not like it but these guys get paid to draw at the end of the day and I bet they earn more than the haters too.

Yeah...I stopped reading in the early 90's, when things became too cartoony and goofy, and they split the titles up like a gajillion times. I ignored the anime ones that came later, because...well, anime can be insanely stupid and childish.
So that picture above that you guys are gushing about just reminds me of something from a saturday morning cartoon.
Perhaps post pictures of the actual comic book art? Again, maybe this is just bad promo art?

@Pathogen - Art Adams has been producing art for Marvel since the late 1980's. Some of his first stuff (that I recall) includes the Longshot Mini-series and X-Men-Asgardian Wars series. If anything, his style has been cribbed by numerous artists over the last 2 decades. The man produces some awesomely detailed work too. For example:

@Dotanuki - Well that one is amazing. So the talent is there, then I guess he's held back by someone in regards to this title? I don't know the artist or can't recognize his work to attribute it to him, but to me there is a wide gap in style between that Man-Thing pic and the art in the article. Night and Day

Meh. If they bring him back i hope they can make him an interesting character again. But to be honest, i think Logan works best when he was an established team of x-men around him. The team at the moment has so many iterations and groups and stuff. I don't know.

@TheManWithoutFear - It's Marvel. They started this whole death business with Jean Grey but after DC popularized it with Superman, they've honest to God killed every character and brought them back. Death isn't interesting in Marvel anymore because there's no permanency anymore, except for Jean Grey I guess. Like [frick]ing Nightcrawler has been killed so many times he teleports in and out of Heaven now. Like what the [frick]. People give DC crap for the New 52, but it gave a fresh universe that Rebirth is making feel familiar now. Honestly, I just want to enjoy Marvel comics again like I did ten years ago but ever since Brand New Day I just can't.
