Two members of the X-Men do get married in tomorrow's issue of X-Men Gold, but not Colossus and Shadowcat!

Although Kitty Pryde proposed to Piotr (“Peter”) Rasputin back in January and the current “Til Death Do Us Part” storyline has been marching toward their big day, Kitty gets cold feet after talking to Ilyanna and recalling some less than fond memories.

However, with love in the air, Gambit is inspired to propose to Rogue and they tie the knot instead! Their newlywed adventures will be chronicled in a new series from Kelly Thompson and Oscar Bazaldua called Mr. and Mrs. X, which begins next month.

@BigChinese - I was following them until about 11 years ago. It all became too cluttered and didn't feel like X books anymore. Same thing happened with the Avengers. Once they started saying everyone was an Avenger, it became "meh" because that used to mean something.

good grief, just freakin let them get married already and be done with it. They can screw with Batman's wedding all they like cuz that's what you expect, but shadowcat and colossus should be a simple freakin thing

@Shadowmaster35 - That's been the cool irony of the Batman wedding. Is that everything is setup to go off without a hitch. Catwoman's going to kick the Joker's @$$, and get to wear that awesome looking wedding dress.

Fans understand how easily Catwoman fits into Batman's mission, when depicted as an anti-hero, and that they clearly love each other. But yet there's supposed to be SOMETHING that keeps them apart. When all it really took was for a Batman writer to want to include Catwoman in his run long-term, and for DC to sign off on Batman and Catwoman having a domestic life together.💰

@DeadWade213 - I wonder if writers simply ran out of things to do with MJ. Plus I think the desire to have Spider-Man appear more youthful, might've been a factor. Batman always has an old fatherly-like vibe to him in the comics. Him marrying Catwoman, was more about a Batman writer (Tom King) finally wanting to advance Bruce Wayne's character development. Instead of wasting pages on Bruce Wayne dating a random woman, you just have Catwoman move into Wayne Manor, Batman put a ring on it, and DC gets to profit off of an iconic and popular love story.💍
