COMICS: Peter Parker Is Back! First Look At MILES MORALES: ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #6

Miles Morales can totes be the next Spider-Man. I'm tired of Peter Parker in all honesty.

@RocketPrime, I can see where you're coming from, but I also get annoyed with the cliche return fakeout stories. If there's a well written logic to Peter's return, I'm ok with it.

Gotta say, the writing for this arc has been good but the pacing is torture. Every time I come to the end of an issue i hate knowing I have to wait so long for the continuation. Seems like an arc that's better to read all together but it keeps me excited.

Also, not a big complaint, but the cover art has been super misleading. There's one cover that depicts a battle between Miles and the Green Goblin, but they only come face to face in the very last panel. Then the next issue's cover shows Miles and Peter fighting each other when in the story they're teaming up against the Goblin. I thought that was particularly dumb to try to sell it that way when seeing them in action together is exciting enough of a tease to get fans interested.

I've never understood the hate for Ultimate Goblin. 616 Goblin is great, but I never worry about Spider-man's ability to beat him. Ultimate Goblin is this intimidating monster that always seems like a very serious threat. You can have Ultimate Osborne cornered by a SWAT team and you know that they're in more danger than he is.

I hope we get Miles Morales on screen someday. His origin was kind of weak, but that can be rewritten.

It's not Peter. This whole story is based on the 70s and 90s Clone Saga. I'm presuming this long-haired Peter is Kaine.

@RocketPrime, I'd give classic Doc Ock the edge, even though Ultimate Ock had the cool transforming tentacles. Osborne is a tie for me. In Goblin mode, I like Ultimate but I liked the Dark Reign stuff with 616 Osborne where he became more like Lex Luthor. I like the storyline for Ultimate Venom and how it ties into Peter's past, but I'd give the character of Eddie Brock's Venom the win over Ultimate Venom who felt more like an unintelligent monster.

As for the pacing/writing of the story, one of the things I've always loved about Ultimate Spider-man is that it always feels like it's going somewhere. ASM occasionally feels aimless, but Bendis does a good job of writing long term stories and smaller arcs that feel worthwhile.

Plus, Bendis already had Miles come up with the theory that this Peter is a clone. That was his first guess when he had time to think about it and was talking about it with his best friend. I don't think he'd draw the mystery out this long just to say "Yep, it's that simple. He's a clone" It might not be a real return of Peter, but I'm skeptical of the clone angle.

But hey, if it is the real Peter returned, then it's still brilliant writing by Bendis because we'll know what Peter wished for.
The day before he died he held the Zodiac Key, which grants the wishes of anyone that touches it. Within one day, he got his girlfriend and his job at the Bugle back, made good with Aunt May, and then he got shot. He must have wished for a vacation!

If they kill off Miles I'm gonna be pissed!!!

I think no one wants "Miles" to die, it's just that we missed "Peter" so much, personally I don't think that anyone felt so much a comic book death since DC killed "Robin" in "A death in the family", and with so many deaths after what happen in "Ultimatum" and "Cataclysm" we can't lose "Spider-Man" again.

I think the way this is going is that "Peter" had to fake his death to protect aunt "May", "Gwen Stacy" and "Mary Jane", so when he find out that "Goblin" was going to be no longer in custody of S.H.I.E.L.D. he had to come back, and I think he's come to stay, and "Miles" would probably become "The Ultimate Scarlett Spider", if that's the case I think Peter would have a major conflict on whether or not he comes back to the life of his love ones.

I just hope 5 things don't happen.

#1 If “Miles” dies is going to be a huge middle finger for everyone (like last time).
#2 “Peter” can´t be a clone, no one wants a clone.
#3 I hope they didn't brought him back to be an antagonist, that'd suck.
#4 If they kill "Peter" again we are going to burn whole Marvel down.
#5 If “Spider-Man” is back, is for good, and no for one last time, what would happen to “With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility”.

So tell me what you guys think.

P.S. "Ultimate Green Goblin" rules, he’s really frightening and threatening, like any archnemesis should.

Yeah, they also said the Ultimate and 616 universe weren't going to cross-over back when the UU was cool, look how that turned out.
