COMICS: SPIDER-WOMAN Will Be Pregnant For Her "All-New, All-Different" Relaunch

"Parent by day, hero by night." The cover to Dennis Hopeless and Javier Rodriguez's October issue of Spider-Woman #1 has leaked, and it seems Jessica Drew will find herself with a bun in the oven when we return to her adventures 8 months after Secret Wars...

Covers for some of Marvel's post Secret Wars titles have leaked, the most interesting of which is the one directly below. As you can see, when Dennis Hopeless and Javier Rodriguez bring us an "All-New, All-Different" Spider-Woman series this October, the lady in question will be heavily preggers.

This image comes courtesy of Bleeding Cool, and because Marvel's hasn't officially released it we don't have any more details. But we do also have the covers for Gerry Duggan And Ryan Stegman's Uncanny Avengers #1 (check that tagline), and Nick Spencer And Daniel Acuna's Sam Wilson, Captain America #1. The Caps do not seem to be getting along.

Well, the other two books look good. Daniel Acuña on Captain America should be great, and that 'Who do you stand with?' tagline is very intriguing.

I'm sorry... but why is it stupid? It's giving the character extra depth, in having someone to look after. (and at least one Spider Character is allowed to have a child.) Plus there's the issue of who's the father, how will they cope juggling a child and crimefighting.

But let's not forget, for each pregnancy that are genuine (Sue Storm, Jessica Jones) there are some that are just temporary plot points (Kitty Pride, Carol Danvers)

This can't be serious.

I understand making heroes representative for all ages, situations and genders as well as sexual orientations.
But to have her that pregnant and fighting crime seems really irresponsible....

Just give more publicity to Julia Carpenter.
She's a spider woman and a single mother, a really unappreciated hero.

Well it is just a cover. We don't know for sure if she'll go out on duty like that.

Given the similarity, I wouldn't be surprised if they have Julia in the new series too

@Frevoli It is stupid because fighting crime while pregnant is more irresponsible and dangerous than smoking while pregnant.

I'm less bothered by a pregnant superhero than I am by a the Cap/Falcon cover.
How many times do we have put up with schisms that demand we take sides? Drama is one thing, but could we please spend A LOT less time showing heroes in conflict with each other, having to pick which hero they agree with, and fighting through some stupid story arc!
Yes, OF COURSE heroes are going to honestly disagree. It's been part of the fabric of Marvel comics from the beginning. But for the past ten years we have been force fed nothing but a constant diet of "hero vs hero" as the main source of conflict.
Enough.
Sure, it's JUST a cover. But you give it a tagline, and speak directly to the reader, it screams long term, multi-title event.
Yawn. Bring on the bad guys.

@LeeEthanWayne The majority of older regulars on this site lean more toward DC. It is the kids and 20 somethings that are Marvelites.
