Next year, critically acclaimed creators Rick Remender (Uncanny X-Force) & Gabriel Hardman (Hulk) take readers deep under cover in Secret Avengers! Captain America has tasked Hawkeye with putting together a brand new team, ushering in a new era for the Secret Avengers. When the call is put out for heroes to save the Marvel Universe from its most dangerous foes, the biggest powerhouses will answer. America’s Secret Soldier – Venom, The UK’s premiere super hero – Captain Britain, Founding Avenger – Giant-Man and more will join ranks to create a team that will have fans everywhere demanding more. Packed to the brim with action, intrigue, insurmountable odds AND covers by legendary artist Arthur Adams, no fan can miss this!

Our opening arc will have a big secret war, a big secret new world, a big secret new race, a big team death, a big secret team betrayal, and begin a secret affair. High stakes, intrigue, and tons of character drama as we unearth the mystery surrounding familiar automaton villains reimagined as members of a new species--The Descendants!" exclaimed Remender. "I’m a tremendous fan of Gabe’s work; he's one of the best storytellers in the business, always puts clarity first, while still managing engaging and dynamic action. I’m beyond excited to have him joining me on Secret Avengers. And having Art Adams on covers is truly a dream come true."

Kicking off this January in Secret Avengers #21.1 by Remender and red-hot artist Patrick Zircher, fans can get a taste of what we’ve got planned before Gabriel Hardman jumps on board as the ongoing artist with Secret Avengers #22.

"Secret Avengers gives me the opportunity to draw an exciting group of heroes who I've never drawn before as well as design new villains and new worlds. Hawkeye, Beast and Valkyrie have been favorites of mine since I was a kid. That combined that with the crazy big, black ops tinged action/adventure makes this a book I had to draw," explained Hardman. "Rick is known for his wildly inventive scripts and he really delivers with Secret Avengers. This is an epic story that will have big repercussions. That's the kind of storytelling I like to be involved with."

With Hawkeye at the helm, Captain America’s strike force team must dodge Adaptoids, Descendants and the biggest threats to the Marvel Universe...without anyone knowing, in Secret Avengers!

Sorry if I sound fanboyish, but this is awesome!
I've been saying for a while that I want to see Venom working with the team in at least a crossover of some kind. Making a full time member is going to rock! Worst case scenario, I get more Venom stories. Best Case, Flash Thompson begins to solidify himself as a hero to stay.

These are indeed awesome.

So Venom's an Avenger. That's different.

@Luis75: To be fair, Venom's never really been a through-and-through villain. When he first appeared, yes he was more villainous. Over the years though, he's been more anti-hero than anything.

Hate the outfit on Hawkeye and what they've done to the Beast. I liked the old blue Beast before they turned him into looking like a blue Cowardly Lion or something.

Love any chance to enjoy Arthur Adams' art. Truly one of the best in the business. Love the black-and-white art even better. Check out that Perez-esque detail! Also must say that this is an interesting mix of characters.

why did every one get a upgrade except Captain Britain. Also not sure Im sold on venom. Maybe they should have made a new character not just rehash another one. Also if this is the best hawkeye could get then he is in for some sh$t

@Luis75, I actually like this version of Venom as a hero more than . Instead of an evil guy being more evil, we have a heroic character trying to tame the symbiote. It's also a very interesting metaphor for addiction.

The look has actually grown on me and looks very dynamic when drawn right, and all in all its one of my favorite comics out there. As for the deadpool comparison, keep in mind Deadpool's look heavily inspired by Spiderman. Considering Venom's link to Spidey, this really isn't surprising.

Oh, and don't worry. The classic venom look still appears very frequently.

I'll take Jim Lee's Beast any day over any other type he's ever been. But it's about time Cap Brit comes back to the spotlight!

Much, much better Venom. Very happy with his look. Just seeing him like this is a reason to pick up an issue.

Intruder- I agree, i'd rather have Namor as an Avenger and have Beast as an X-Man. But that's just because i never read stories with Beast in the Avengers and i never considered Namor much of a mutant.

A human then a hairy human, then back to a human, then back to a more beastial hairy human, then a cat, then back a few steps to a beast human now a Baboon...really? Are we just going to transform Beast into like 3 different animals each freakin' year, lets please get him a look and at least stick with it for awhile.
