I don't know why they've been holding off for the reveal this long. I honestly don't care that much. But so far this series has been pretty great. My favorite if all these new Avengers titles.

I like that panel with Heimdall's eyes. Trolls always bleeding purple. Their yellow skin and contrasting blood adds a fun artistic element

@ManCalledSting

It's the artistic shading, but they did it in a way with the purples to make it ambiguous. You could call it either way. Because his helmet is golden but has a lot of the same flat tones as the skin.

They should give the original male Thor a cool war like name, like WarMongerer or WarBoar or something like that.

Something animalistic but also sexual. The Boar, or something.

Its obviously Roz Soliman.

Queen freya is obviously here making a point, that her magic and power is more than enough to overthrow Odin's if need be. She is the all mother and she is not to be overlooked or looked down to, her power should be respected.

She shown that her power is enough to allow Roz (who she took a liking to, (earth god +environmental shield agent who does whatever she can to help the planet?) To weild the hammer when both Thor and even Odin can't. It will also show Thor to respect her even more for her worthiness.

I remember Aaron (or was it someone else ?) said we won't know the identity of new Thor until issue 8. I think it shouldn't have taken so long. Five issues at the most, because as good as Aaron has been on this book, this particular storyline isn't the most compelling. Maybe it's taking so many issues because of Secret Wars ?...

God this storyline is terrible. It has went NO WHERE it's literally just been "Hey there's a girl with Thors powers and we're calling her Thor even though she's not Thor and you're a misogynist if you hate it"

Unless you frequently visit the MarySue and are blind to quality in favor of your grade school gender bias then this book isn't for you.

How did Jason Aaron go from one of the greatest Thor runs of all time to schlock like this?

To be Honest it DOES make me want to re-read God of Thunder so that's good.

This book has been one of the better books marvel has produced lately. I wasn't sure I would like this book or the new Thor but so far I have been surprised.

The artwork drew me in back when it was just a preview here.I scoffed at the obvious ploy to bring in readers by making Thor a woman.But I just had to see that first issue because of the look of Dauterman's work. So this has become my one only Thor title I have ever bought. And I'm not disappointed in my decision because thus far I have been entertained and that is what matters most.

@ManCalledSting No sir he didn't lose his first name. He gave it to the female Thor. After they fought each other he found her to be worthy of the name Thor.
