Odin?
The Beyonder?
Scarlet Witch?
Thanos?
Mephisto?
X-Man?
The Molecule Man?

Who do you think is Norman's secret weapon? Its always seemed a little strange to me that just being the guy who killed the Skrull Queen made Osborn one of the most powerful men on Earth! Have your say below!

I've got to go with Sentry or Sentry as The Void or a clone of him since Stormin' Norman has daily access to him.

WTF @ Don't wanna read this yet not up to SIEGE!
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 11/6/2009, 10:42 AM
MULTI: LMAO! :)

vonstallin: Im guessing that its probably one of the above (otherwise, what would be the point of the poster, lol?) but I have no idea who it could be...I have heard that X-Man would be making a return so I can imagine Osborn having power over him maybe!

I personally hope that its Mephisto or The Beyonder - someone powerful enough that they may have been behind everything thats happenned since Avengers Disassembled!

Oh, and they also released this image at the same time..! Anyone have any ideas who this might be? :)

It'll be Odin. The entire purpose of "Siege" is to give the Thor Universe a push before 2011 and the movie. Loki will figure out a way to access and manipulate Odin.

Meanwhile, it will turn out that Norman and the Beyonder have been an item since the 1980s, and Thanos will reveal that he has been cheating on Death with Mephisto. Surprise. All the villains are gay.

I think its either Mephisto or Scarlet Witch. I highly doubt X-Man would join forces with Osborn unless he has found a way to control him. Josh he is coming back and is going to go up against the Dark X-Men.

Josh- Could that guy flying up there be Quazar??? I had heard that he would return soon. Not sure where i read that... i think it was on "comicbookresource.com" or sometin'.

Oh and could you give me the "list" of titles i would need to read to get a good grasp of Siege??? Like with what should i start and WHERE THE HELL Can i get those free online comics???

CorndogBurglar - 11/6/2009, 11:47 AM
@ josh

its definately going to be Mephisto!! i have no doubt in my mind. with all the OMD stuff with spiderman, this would be a perfect way to deal with some dangling plot threads. plus, he hasn't really been showcased as a big bad in a long time.

@ shaman

i think quasar is a good guess, but i don't know if he'd be involved in this story. he's more of a cosmic hero. but he IS supposedly making a return!

@ simonsonrules

the whole point of SIEGE is to get the big three together again, cap, thor, and iron man. its not a THOR based story. if anything, its to show cap's return and how he's going to be the key player in taking down Stormin' Norman.
TheLivingWeapon
TheLivingWeapon - 11/6/2009, 11:52 AM
Also Akihiro Sato for Daken!

@Corndog:

Agreed about the big three, but "Siege" refers to the "Siege" of Asgard, no?
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 11/6/2009, 12:18 PM
Shaman: Huh, I hadnt heard that about Quasar - that would be brilliant though - great idea!!! I'll have a look now through my collection, lol, for the titles I would advise you to get in preperation for the event and I'll post it here in a few minutes! :)

CorndogBurglar: Yeah, Mephisto would make a lot of sense but Im not sure if Bendis will bring in the whole confusion around BND into Siege...it definitely makes the most sense though..!

TheLivingWeapon: Awesome pictures dude!!! Your Daken choice is excellent! :D
Shaman
Shaman - 11/6/2009, 12:20 PM
Josh & CDB- What if it's a way bigger Siege than what we think it is and all those up there ARE his secret weapon??? That would mean that it very well could be Quazar flying up there ;)

Oh and Josh, what do you want me to post???
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 11/6/2009, 12:33 PM
@ simonson

no, its not about asgard. Siege is like the siege of norman's empire. at least that's what i assume. i don't believe asgard has anything to do with it. actually, there IS no asgard, right now, since ragnarok happened. thor has been living on earth since his return. but who knows, if it does turn out to be odin, this could be a good way of having asgard's return. they just haven't really hinted at anything like that. but who knows man, you could be right!
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 11/6/2009, 12:36 PM
Shaman: Well, Im not sure what titles you buy or how up to date you are but here is my list of the essentials you'll need so that when Siege comes around you'll be bang up to date! It all started after Secret Invasion so I guess that it would be worth picking that up but the Dark Reign title that I would say you need are...

Dark Avengers #1-6, #9-onwards (you can skip the crossover issues with Uncanny X-Men because I dont think that will play a huge part in Siege)

Dark Reign The List: Avengers, Spider-Man (the rest are more like annuals for the characters titles though I'd reccomend Punisher for the shock ending alone!)

Captain America: Reborn #1-onwards
Invincible Iron Man #8-19 (and onwards)
Thor #1-onwards (but only if you're desperate to know everything about the return of Thor and his leaving Asgard)

And, unless I've forgotten any they're the most essential Dark Reign issues that in my opinion you need to have read to have a full grasp of Siege. Though to be honest, at the same time there are also titles like New Avengers that have had a lot of Dark Reign stuff in so its difficult to say specific titles that you have to read but I think the ones I listed above are the main ones! As for Siege, there are a few prologue titles out in December which are Siege: The Cabal and Origins of Siege, though I imagine they'll announce some kind of checklist nearer the time!

Hope this helped bud! :)

CorndogBurglar - 11/6/2009, 12:36 PM
@ josh

if it turns out to be mephisto, they can just have the whole "magic" side of the MU fixed, without having TOO much to do with OMD in particular. and who better to have on his side than the devil?? y'know?
TheLivingWeapon
TheLivingWeapon - 11/6/2009, 12:38 PM
@Josh

fanx! also my choice for daken is sick because daken's real name is Akihiro aswel! plus Sato is half chinease half White aswel!

tell me someone better lool :D

@ josh

i've been meaning to ask you, i know you read a lot of comics, but have you read Earth X? its easily my favorite marvel story of all time. its truly EPIC!
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 11/6/2009, 12:48 PM
TheLivingWeapon: I cant man - my choice was Zachary Quinto and your pick kicks his ass right out of the door, lol!

CorndogBurglar: I can honestly tell you that I've been meaning to buy that for about 3 years but as the amount of current comic books I buy has gone up and up I havent been able to buy a graphic novel for ages, lol! I'll have to get that ASAP though - thanks for reminding me! :D
Shaman
Shaman - 11/6/2009, 12:54 PM
Thanks Josh, it does help. So all this started with Secret Invasion... when was Civil War??? I haven't read that either. Is that essential too???
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 11/6/2009, 1:01 PM
@ joshw

yeah man, earth x really is something special.
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 11/6/2009, 1:17 PM
Shaman: Definitely!! Civil War is from back in 2006/7, which was followed buy World War Hulk (not even a little bit essential but a great read!) You should buy Civil War ((you can make do without reading that for this event but its an amazing comic book most definitely worth reading. Dont worry about the tie-ins, they're not essential for Siege) Secret Invasion (again, dont worry about tie-ins, just the main series' are fine to get you up to speed!) and after SI are all the titles that I've listed above!

By now, you should be able to get 99% of these as graphic novels so it wont be too hard to find them all! :)

Mephisto is Norman Osborne's secret weapon. Remember Spider-Man OMD and ABN. Who's a better secret weapon then the guy who changed everything in Peter's life. Fans may have trashed Marvel for what had happen, but I don't believe the fans will stop Joe JACK ASS Quesada, for connecting Siege with his OMD and BND. It would be crazy if Norman Osborn new what Peter once was before he made the deal with Mephisto.
Makiveli21
Makiveli21 - 11/6/2009, 1:34 PM
"SIEGE" is about Norman gathering the Cabal and attempting to take Asgard. It's kind of weird that they're pushing a "secret weapon" for Norman when he hasn't used his original "secret weapon" from when he first came into power of the Avengers, and thats the Sentry. I kind of wish Hulk would have just killed Sentry back in "WORLD WAR HULK". But since he didn't, Normans gotta use this guy! Wouldn't it be cool if Norman unleashed Sentry when Thor came back, just to have Thor beat the crap out of him? Thats the fight I wanna see!
joshw24- that pic is XMAN all day
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 11/6/2009, 1:37 PM
Amil Rickly: I like your theory man! I could definitely see him getting his own back on The Illuminati by screwing with things on Earth...

TheLivingWeapon: Yeah, I can see what you mean, lol!! :)

TDKR11: I see what you're saying but I think Marvel are trying to distance themselves from the Peter/Mephisto deal...I read somewhere that we might find out what MJ whispered to Mephisto at the end of BND but otherwise the explanation for how everyone forgot him revealing his identity will be explained in a different way apparently!
Makiveli21
Makiveli21 - 11/6/2009, 1:41 PM
Also while we got the cool pics up and everything, I wanna see Logan KILL Daken. Not that I haven't enjoyed Daken's little run as "Dark Wolverine" but I think if Logan had to eventually put down his own son it would add alot to Logans already unstable psyche.
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 11/6/2009, 1:41 PM
Makiveli21: Yeah, I really wish they had killed off Sentry - I've never liked the character, lol! Bendis has said though that...

"Sentry is the most polarizing character, that I can think of, in the Marvel Universe. People love him, or they f**king hate him, or they love to hate him… or they just hate him. He is a Superman character, almost a DC Universe character, in the middle of the Marvel Universe. No one knows if he's alive or dead or a god or a being of light or darkness. All of these questions will be answered in Siege and the surrounding tie-ins. But that storyline will come to a climax. We're going to turn all of our Sentry cards over."

Sounds pretty interesting IMO! :) I really dont like the whole "Dark Wolverine" thing going on with Wolverine - IMO, Wolverine needs a fresh, new creative team on his core title! If only that could be Mark Millar! His Enemy of the State and Old Man Logan stuff was amazing!
Makiveli21
Makiveli21 - 11/6/2009, 1:42 PM
I've been dyin to know what she whispered in his ear too! When will we get answers?!?!?
Makiveli21
Makiveli21 - 11/6/2009, 1:44 PM
I can already see it... Thor's gonna kill Sentry!
Makiveli21
Makiveli21 - 11/6/2009, 2:05 PM
WoW Anil those are some detailed predictions! I agree that Thor killing Sentry might not be the best way to handle things, its what we all want to see! And your proabably right about Daken trying to become a real hero but is there room in the Marvel U for 2 Wolverines? And as for Spidey and the Goblin, I feel like Peter has to kill him. If anyone else did it, I would feel totally jipped. Maybe not in cold blood, but Normans death has to come in a fight with Spider-Man, because its his fight not Ronins.
