COMICS: Will We Be Be Getting A Female WOLVERINE At Some Point?

Well, technically she already is the female version of Wolverine! But word is that following the events of Death Of Wolverine and Axis, X-23 is going to be taking up Logan's mantle...that is, after someone else has held it for a while first.

Yesterday, Bleeding Cool posted a speculative article on Sabertooth taking over as Wolverine after Logan kicks the bucket. Their assumption was based on the below image from Avengers & X-Men: Axis #9, which carries the following solicitation: "An old foe must claim the mantle of his greatest enemy to save the lives of all he cares for!"

That certainly looks like ol' Victor Creed in Logan's duds, and according to the site's follow up article, it definitely is. They say a source has reached out and confirmed that Sabertooth will indeed be the new Wolverine...at least for a while. Apparently the plan is for Creed to carry the mantle for only 6 months, at which point Logan's clone X-23 (who can currently be seen in the pages of All-New X-Men) will take over. So, it seems like we'll have a female Wolverine to go along with the new female Thor. None of this has been officially confirmed, but what do you guys make of it?
