Destroyer 14's Review of Origin of Species Part Four

Destroyer 14's Review of Origin of Species Part Four

I review part four of the Spider-Man event: Origin of Species. There will be some spoilers.

Origin of Species is coming to an end next issue. Then Big Time begins. Now, the question is, does part four continue with the event's excitement? Read on.

Once again, Origin of Species proves to be a very entertaining event. The dialogue is good, the action is fast-paced, and the ending is great.

The art is lackluster, but not horrible. Like Back in Black and Grim Hunt, Spidey in this issue is no-holds barred on the bad guys. The bad guys are pretty cheap in this issue though, some begging for mercy to the cops. I find that very petty. You can't call yourself a villain after that.

I wonder if Menace will become a good guy now. She seems to be leaning toward that.

Oh, if Venom doesn't appear for the final part, I will not be happy. Venom is Spidey's greatest villain. He's the guy that tormented Spidey back in the day.

WARNING: Major Spoiler ahead

I am glad though, that Lizard has made his way into this madness. Shed was a good event. (Except the art.)

In closing, this issue is a good one. Hopefully the final part will be even more epic. (And have Venom.)

I give this issue a 4/5. The conclusion of Origin of Species will be out in two weeks.

great review destroyer. I do agree that those throw away villains need to be revoked of their villain membership cards. Then again all those were just well dumb villains that never posed any threat. I'm sure venom will have a larger role in the Big Time. Why are the covers so much better than the inside...I mean black cat in the corner* drools* AAAAAAAWWWWWWRROOOOOOOOO!!!!

@Xenix Venom hasn't been seen in the Spidey comics since American Son, and didn't look great. Venom is Spidey's greatest vilain, him not being in this arc is a crime.

i dont really get the title for this arc... "origin of the species".... why would they call it that? they should call it "goblin baby chase" because there has been no origins of any species goin on

I don't think Carlie Cooper is Pete's new girl. Isn't it supposed to be that girl with the short hair and glasses who claims to be Menace's sister?

Anyone seen the trailer for Big Time? It looks like this origins of the species ark is going to put away the vast majority of classic Spidy villains to make room for brand new baddies.

@Makiveli: Maybe the goblin baby is supposed to grow up and procreate an army of Gabriel Stacys! The purpose of this ark might be to wrap up some sucky story lines *cough!*MENACE*cough!*

@Destroyer: Good review! I just hope they don't go the rout of Goblin-Lizard-Hybrid-Baby. That would be a little too over-the-top for me.

VENOM IS NOT SPIDER-MAN'S GREATEST ENEMY!!!!!!!!!!Just because you have a hard-on for the character, doesn't mean he the best ever.

Any true Spider-Man fan know that his greatest enemy is Norman Osborn. Like the the Joker is for Batman.

@Anil & ComicCritic

That girl is Norah Winters, she works at Frontine, and had worked with Pete before.

To everybody,
When the hell do we finally get good artwork on ASM?? Way too many awesome covers with really crappy interior art. Not really looking forward to BIG TIME, the Ramos art looks like shit!
