Right on the eve of the character's 60th anniversary, Iron Man will begin a new era this December with Invincible Iron Man. Writer Gerry Duggan (X-Men) and artist Juan Frigeri (Avengers) will kick off a new run of the Armoured Avenger's flagship solo title that will bring Tony Stark to his darkest depths only to rise greater than ever before,

The ongoing series will begin with Tony reflecting on the highs and lows of his 60 years of history, including digging up some classic armors and confronting old wounds, to overcome a devastating defeat at the hands of a Marvel villain who’s been making big waves throughout the Marvel Universe recently.

While their identity is being kept under wraps for now, it's said that Tony Stark has met his match. Tony will need to think fast and make some surprising moves in the months ahead to get back on his feet, including new bonds with surprising allies that will redefine the way Iron Man operates as a hero.

To mark this new era, some of Marvel’s top artists have turned out stunning variant covers for the debut issue. In addition to depicting Tony at his very best in stunning pinups, we also have covers that celebrate his legacy including Ivan Tao’s cover starring Ironheart, the breakout young hero who’s set to play a major role throughout the new run.

Plus, you can feast your eyes on legendary Iron Man artist Bob Layton’s epic connecting covers. The showstopping piece by one of the character’s most definitive creators showcases the various armours Tony has donned throughout his 60-year history.  You'll also find pieces by Marco Checchetto, Pepe Larraz, John Romita Jr., Declan Shalvey, Ivan Tao, and Luciano Vecchio.

While Iron Man's time in the MCU has ended, 2023 will clearly be an exciting time for the hero. Marvel Studios looks set to mark that with the Disney+ debut of Ironheart, while we're also hoping that Armor Wars movie starts gearing up soon as well.

I remember when there was an Iron Man film in cinemas.

Them were the days.

Wonder if we'll ever have a reboot and who could play Tony Stark? RDJ seems almost irreplaceable, but Im probably just being small-minded.

@ObserverIO - I wager we’ll have a recast after Secret Wars.
