Last month, Marvel Comics announced plans to launch another hard-hitting series of tales told in a limited palette of black, white and red, this time starring Moon Knight. However, this isn't Marc Spector, and in Moon Knight: Black, White & Blood, we'll get a number of stories, including one from X-Men and Fantastic Four writer Jonathan Hickman.
He'll be joined by legendary artist Chris Bachalo and, together, they'll take us 6,000 years into the future to introduce an all-new hero who has taken over the Moon Knight mantle. This last living priest of Khonshu travels throughout distant galaxies to avenge his fallen god and master, and we now have a first look at the Moon Knight of the future in Chris Bachalo’s early character sketches.
Marvel Studios is obviously launching a new Moon Knight TV series on Disney+ this March, so the release of this comic book is obviously good timing. We're sure it will also include some fun new stories featuring Marc and his many personalities, but heading into the far-flung future to met another Fist of Khonshu sounds like an absolute blast.
"A bevy of comicdom's finest creators put their mark upon the Fist of Khonshu in stories depicted in stark black, white and blood-red," reads the solicitation text. "Marc Guggenheim and Jorge Fornés tell a Moon Knight adventure in reverse! And Murewa Ayodele and Dotun Akande team the white-clad crusader up with the Amazing Spider-Man for a harrowing night of adventure!"
Moon Knight: Black, White & Blood #1 will be released in comic book stores on April 14.
