The strongest there is has been overtaken by an ancient evil known as the Eldest and transformed into the Infernal Hulk, arguably the most terrifying and twisted version of the Jade Giant ever.
Now, he tears across the Marvel Universe, corrupting heroes and reshaping the world in his monstrous image. This February, we'll behold his final vision in Hulk War: Infernal Rage, a five-issue event series from acclaimed Infernal Hulk creative team Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein.
Teased over the last year, the event was officially unveiled at New York Comic Con during the "Marvel Comics: House of Ideas" panel. At the event, Johnson spoke about how his entire run had been building towards this monumental conflict and the devastating impact Infernal Hulk's conquest will unleash on the wider Marvel Universe.
Hulk War: Infernal Rage marks the final act of Johnson and Klein’s Infernal Saga, which began in 2023 with Incredible Hulk #1. Now, the war has arrived, and as the remaining heroes race to find the weapon that could turn the tide, the Infernal Hulk declares the Marvel Universe his new kingdom, spreading his corruption as a battle rages both within and beyond his twisted mind.
Editor Mark Paniccia teased, "This is the most visceral Hulk epics I’ve seen. PKJ’s story is non-stop destruction, and Nic Klien is doing the best work of his career. This is not to be missed!"
Check out Klein’s cover below, and stay tuned for more Hulk War: Infernal Rage news in the months ahead, including tie-in announcements.
Elsewhere at the event, Marvel Comics announced Immortal Soldiers, a new one-shot comic releasing in January 2027 from writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Christian Rosado, spinning out of the events of Avengers: Armageddon while setting the stage for a new year of stories and mysteries.
Avengers: Armageddon didn’t end the war – it started one! With the world no longer trusting superheroes to save them, Earth still needs saving. Who will step up to the plate and keep watch over the planet when we need it the most?
We'll have to wait and see, but the first cover art for the comic appears to be teasing Nick Fury's return. Marvel Comics sidelined the classic Fury several years ago to focus on his son, a Samuel L. Jackson lookalike. If the real Fury is making a comeback here, it could be huge.
