Once the Evil Mutant Master of Magnetism Always the Evil Mutant Master of Magnetism?

Can even the X-Men's super spin doctor manage to paint Magneto, the once upon a time Evil master of magnetism, any other colour but a very nasty shade of terrorist?

Colors Frank D’Armata

Marvel Comics’ Point One initiative arrives at Utopia, current island home of the Uncanny X-Men.
Superhuman’s PR Specialist Kate Kildare arrives on the island to give Magneto’s image a makeover.
Meanwhile, the X-men take on a couple of AIM agents who have an earthquake making device and plan to use it on San Francisco.

Kieron Gillen writes the main characters well. Kate Kildare has some nice dialogues, especially with Magneto as she tries to persuade “the world’s most infamous mutant terrorist” to “dial back” on his mutant superiority attitude.

On the whole, the plot is nicely thought out and makes a pleasant rest stop between the “Quarantine” storyline and the upcoming “Breaking Point” which sees the X-Men return to the Breakworld.
Carlos Pacheco’s art work is well drawn. His backgrounds are well thought-out and clear. While his figures are well proportioned and not too bulky.

All in all a well put together issue. 3 out of 5.
