Secret Wars #2 is does it again! This story is more convoluted than the previous issue. Right from the beginning of the book your left wondering why is there a 100 Thors? At no point does this book feel like an issue #2. It didn’t exactly pick up where the last one left off. It's smothered in too much Asgardian dialog. You end up thinking you’re watching the show Vikings. Where did of the Asgardians come from? What is the purpose of Secret Wars? Where is all the superheroes? You won’t find any of the answers you’re looking for from reading this issue.

I am somewhat ashamed to be reading this book. It’s uninteresting and makes no attempt to back pedal. It never tries inform you on what’s going on. Were supposed to understand the last remaining universes collided. Ok, then what? The Final incursion destroyed everything in existence. Yeah so what? Tell me something I don't already know. The only thing I could gather from this series so far is Doom is in control of everything? Sinister has his own island somewhere? Captain Britain's are everywhere? I hate to say it but there is just too many unanswered questions. It just makes no sense to the average reader! I'm not surprised if long time followers didn't enjoy it. Even if they did they would have to know years of back story.

I am so close to never wanting to read another Marvel Comic again. For what Jonathan Hickman has done with this Secret Wars run. It's nothing but waste valuable time and resources. Marvel could have been making something worthy of reading. Fans could be reading more Avengers, Spider-Man, Nova or even Guardians of The Galaxy. Instead, we get the Hickman Universe. I am sure Esad Ribic tried to give the whole comic the Alex Ross feel, but it is too much. It just isn’t engaging, eye popping or exciting. They didn't even include any fan favorites. No Spider-Man, none of the Avengers (except for a 100 Thors) and a pointless story. The only thing that worth seeing in this book is the two panels of Venom.

I just want to say I respect the people who put these comics together but I can’t enjoy them. There is so many fun stories to tell. Interesting characters to dive into and enjoy. This series drains the life out of you leaves you confused and annoyed. In my eyes Secret Wars isn’t even Marvel anymore. After reading this you will agree this feels like such a different company. I will be glad when Secret Wars ends soon. They get Hickman off of projects so the fans can have Marvel comics back. This issue felt like the Spider-Verse but with Thors.
