Secret Wars #2 is does it again! This story is more convoluted than the previous issue. Right from the beginning of the book your left wondering why is there a 100 Thors? At no point does this book feel like an issue #2. It didn’t exactly pick up where the last one left off. It's smothered in too much Asgardian dialog. You end up thinking you’re watching the show Vikings. Where did of the Asgardians come from? What is the purpose of Secret Wars? Where is all the superheroes? You won’t find any of the answers you’re looking for from reading this issue.

I am somewhat ashamed to be reading this book. It’s uninteresting and makes no attempt to back pedal. It never tries inform you on what’s going on. Were supposed to understand the last remaining universes collided. Ok, then what? The Final incursion destroyed everything in existence. Yeah so what? Tell me something I don't already know. The only thing I could gather from this series so far is Doom is in control of everything? Sinister has his own island somewhere? Captain Britain's are everywhere? I hate to say it but there is just too many unanswered questions. It just makes no sense to the average reader! I'm not surprised if long time followers didn't enjoy it. Even if they did they would have to know years of back story.

I am so close to never wanting to read another Marvel Comic again. For what Jonathan Hickman has done with this Secret Wars run. It's nothing but waste valuable time and resources. Marvel could have been making something worthy of reading. Fans could be reading more Avengers, Spider-Man, Nova or even Guardians of The Galaxy. Instead, we get the Hickman Universe. I am sure Esad Ribic tried to give the whole comic the Alex Ross feel, but it is too much. It just isn’t engaging, eye popping or exciting. They didn't even include any fan favorites. No Spider-Man, none of the Avengers (except for a 100 Thors) and a pointless story. The only thing that worth seeing in this book is the two panels of Venom.

I just want to say I respect the people who put these comics together but I can’t enjoy them. There is so many fun stories to tell. Interesting characters to dive into and enjoy. This series drains the life out of you leaves you confused and annoyed. In my eyes Secret Wars isn’t even Marvel anymore. After reading this you will agree this feels like such a different company. I will be glad when Secret Wars ends soon. They get Hickman off of projects so the fans can have Marvel comics back. This issue felt like the Spider-Verse but with Thors.

So basically, your review boils down to "I don't like Asgardians" and "where's Spider-Man?"

I understood the issue perfectly well, it introduced us to the new status quo as well as hinting at bigger happenings behind the scenes. The blanks will get filled in at the right time, just have patience.

And whilst I don't mean to be "that guy", try proof-reading dude.

With a name like comicbookjerk I would expect nothing less than a bad review lol

Try being less of a jerk and more of a comic book nerd, hating just to hate makes ya look like a royal prick...try backing your points instead of pointlessly complaining

I for one am loving this book I love the epic feel to it...reminds me of GoT but the marvel universe 😎

No crap you don't get all the answers on the SECOND issue. Thats the fun of the event, its a big mystery as to how Doom's universe came to be. The fun was exploring what new roles each character played and how different they are from the 616 and 1610. Dooms vision is a mix of House of M and Game Of Thrones which sounds amazing so far. Your criticisms are very biased. No Spider-man? No Avengers? Again, its the second issue. I'm not gonna tell you to quit as a reviewer but please, write more professionally

I like reading stuff like this. Its more entertaining than buying a comic that costs about 5 bucks for nothing. I used to love comics back in the 90's with the death of Superman, Knightfall and Magneto ripping out wolverines adamatium. But as soon as they returned back to the way they were I lost interest completely.

I just create my own stories now and show them to my friends. I tell you one thing they enjoy it more than the crap they put out. I think fans should start creating there own story lines and share them with their friends like I have and stop buying comics.

Secret Wars is alright so far. As for Convergence, I'm actually digging the tie-ins more than the main arc especially jester Harley and Shadow Of The Bat.

I feel anyone who hasn't been reading multiple titles in the marvel universe won't understand this concept. I personally love the approach and the idea of battle world.

And this is what happens when a fake Marvel fan (just a fan of the mcu) tries to become a real marvel fan.
