Amazing Spider-Man has been ruled over by Dan Slott for years now but the title is finally getting a new creative team in the form of Nick Spencer (Secret Empire) and Ryan Ottley (Invincible). In this first look at issue #1, we see the wall-crawler meeting up with his fellow superheroes but it's hard to escape the feeling he may be responsible for the alien invasion which appears to be taking place in the comic.

For more on what to expect from this issue, here's the full solicitation text teasing Spencer's run:

An alien invasion hits New York City and the only one who can stop it is…Spider-Man?! But that’s far from all you’ll find here –  a revelation from the past puts Peter Parker’s job, relationships, and whole life in jeopardy! And if even that’s not enough, you’ll see a new roommate, new love interests – and a new villain! Spider-Man goes back to basics courtesy of Nick Spencer (SECRET EMPIRE, SUPERIOR FOES OF SPIDER-MAN) and the Marvel debut of RYAN OTTLEY (Invincible)!

Looks great. I like the classic/getting back to the roots vibe/art style. No more Mr. Worldwide-Peter Starker.

Lost me at new love interests. Until they redo the marriage, im out. Like anyone gives a crap about michelles and carlies... Just pair him with someone who is actually a well rounded character... What is felicia doing these days?

"Ugh, YOU!"
Sorry, lost me there. I hate how suddenly every hero started to hate Spidey for no reason at all. Bendis started it, everyone follows the trend.

"New love interests."
So who's it gonna be? And why should we care? How should we get invested in a love story that we know won't go anywhere? (for example: Carlie Cooper, Mockingbird or Anna Marconi)
Undo One More Day, and fans will get invested in Pete's love life again. Or finally tie the knot with someone else, Black Cat or Spider-Woman, idc. Just give us a love story that is worth caring about.
