Now, this surprises me a little.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (33) defeated The Dark Knight (30).

VERY CLOSE!! Personally, The Dark Knight is my favourite film, and I rank The Winter Soldier 4th in the MC. So for me this is a bit of an upset. Thanks for voting everyone, and keep voting for the best TV show below...

Wow, that's a huge surprise. WS is maybe a better comic-book movie, but TDK is a better movie in general. The thing about WS is that I can't really think of a single flaw with it. It was almost perfect, but it wasn't really groundbreaking in my mind like TDK was.

As I said in the last thread, I loved both movies but I'm going to be a sore loser here and point out that I guess there really is more MCU bias on this website than in the real world.

Comparing Rotten Tomatoes - TDK: 94%, TWS: 89%
Comparing Imdb - TDK: 9/10, TWS: 7.8/10
Comparing Box Office - TDK: 1 billion, TWS: 700 million
Comparing Metacritic - TDK: 82%, TWS: 70%

The Dark Knight's the real winner

@Elayem - I agree 1000%. That is why I stopped voting two rounds ago! I knew that the results would not reflect reality. There are already numerous measures that we can use to determine what the public ACTUALLY believes as you expertly and comprehensively pointed to.

While this might be a fun exercise and it was interesting to do, at the end of the day it is only relevant to the people on this site...not the broader and infinitely larger CBM audience.

@Forthas - but at the end of the day, even if the winner was green lantern, it shouldn't be relevant to anybody. At least not to the point of being offended.
It should only matter to you which one is your favorite.

That being said, I think TDK and Avengers are the kings of cbms, probably my all time favorites, but I am very happy to see Cap winning this one. Can't say it's not deserved.

@Jaspion - I am not offended at all. But it would be as if I was on a website dedicated to Batman and I do a survey that asks who is the greatest superhero. The results are obviously pre-ordained. But it is still worth pointing out why the results are what they are so people who may not be familiar with the composition of the site will understand the biases that determined the results.

tough call between the 2 but I still think TDK is a little over hyped, its a great movie, but it has its flaws, not a Harvey dent fan, and I still stick to the opinion that Batman Begins was the better movie in the trilogy.

Aside from having more heart and being more rewatchable, TWS is part of something much larger and more ambitious than Nolan was even aiming for, yet still stands on its own.

Bias implies unjust reasoning, whereas I read many sound defenses with solid reasoning by people who loved both movies... but loved TWS more.
