The Battle

Pick one TV Show from each battle (copy and paste into comments), or leave it blank if you can't choose. You can still vote if you haven't seen a particular TV Show in any particular battle. I'll count the votes, and the winning TV Show goes to the next round, the losing TV Show is eliminated.

We have some very interesting match-ups this round! We have the Man without Fear taking on the friendly Neighbourhood Spider-man, the X-Men taking on the Teen Titans, and the Justice League taking on S.H.I.E.L.D.... who will win?

1 Daredevil (2015-) v Spider-Man (1994-98)

2 X-Men (1992-97) v Teen Titans (2003-06)

3 The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (2010-13) v The Flash (2014-)

4 Lucifer (2016-) v Superman: The Animated Series (1996-2000)

5 Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013-) v Justice League (2001-04)

6 Batman: The Animated Series (1992-95) v Young Justice (2010-)

7 Justice League Unlimited (2004-06) v Agent Carter (2015-16)

8 The Walking Dead (2010-) v Jessica Jones (2015-)

Results From Round 2

Daredevil (2015-) 23 defeated Constantine (2014-15) 0
Constantine no match for Daredevil, his visual illusions no match for a blind guy!

Spider-Man (1994-98) 17 defeated Wolverine and the X-Men (2008-09) 5
Some love for Wolverine and the X-Men, but the classic Spidey cartoon too strong.

X-Men (1992-97) 16 defeated Smallville (2001-10) 6
Smallville probably unlucky to run into a beloved animated series, but the right show won here.

The Spectacular Spider-Man (2008-09) 8 lost to Teen Titans (2003-06) 11
A close battle! The Teen Titans edging out Spidey by 3 votes.

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (2010-13) 15 defeated Batman Beyond (1999-2002) 8
Futuristic Batman couldn't take down Earth's Mightiest heroes.

The Flash (2014-) 12 defeated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987-96) 7
Thought we were in for an upset at one point, but the classic TMNT ran out of pace against the Fastest Man Alive.

Lucifer (2016-) 9 defeated Green Lantern: The Animated Series (2011-13) 7
The closest battle! With Lucifier winning by only 2 votes.

Silver Surfer (1998) 4 lost to Superman: The Animated Series (1996-2000) 17
Superman v the Silver Surfer would be great to watch on the big screen yes?

Supergirl (2015-) 0 lost to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013-) 21
I'm impressed by Supergirl this year (I think it has gone from DC's worst CW show to DC's best CW show), but the very consistent SHIELD didn't drop a point.

The New Batman Adventures (1997-99) 6 lost to Justice League (2001-04) 14
Batman wouldn't be too disappointed in this result.

Batman: The Animated Series (1992-95) 16 defeated Luke Cage (2015-) 6
MCU's first casualty, with Luke Cage's bulletproof love no match for definitive Batman for many.

Young Justice (2010-) 14 defeated Spawn (1997-99) 4
Young Justice comfortably.

Justice League Unlimited (2004-06) 16 defeated Spider-Man (1967-70) 5
Old school Spider couldn't take on the Unlimited Justice League.

The Middleman (2008) 0 lost to Agent Carter (2015-16) 20
Agent Carter didn't drop a point against The Middleman (which I think many haven't seen, including me!).

The Walking Dead (2010-) 18 defeated X-Men: Evolution (2000-03) 8
Evolution had a lot of love, but the behemoth The Walking Dead wasn't going to lose this.

Jessica Jones (2015-) 22 defeated The Flash (1990-91) 0
And no contest here!

I like Jessica Jones, even if it took me awhile to do so.

And I stopped watching The Walking Dead along time ago.

But I voted for TWD because of its first season alone.

Stellar television, imo. One of my favorite seasons of TV I've ever watched.

@NoMeaning45 - Yes, the first season of TWD was great! It looked like they had a clear direction at that point.

@ossie85 - yep.

And then they just went down a morbid and violent path, with no string of hope.

Actually, when they got to Alexandria, that hope came back.

Then it left quickly.

Goddammit, so tough to decide between Daredevil and Spider-Man e then between Batman TAS and Young Justice.

1 Spider-Man (1994-98)

2 X-Men (1992-97)

3 The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (2010-13)

4 Superman: The Animated Series (1996-2000)

5 Justice League (2001-04)

6 Young Justice (2010-)

7 Justice League Unlimited (2004-06)

8 The Walking Dead (2010-)

3 The Flash (2014-)

4 Superman: The Animated Series (1996-2000)

5 Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013-)

6 Batman: The Animated Series (1992-95)

7 Justice League Unlimited (2004-06)

8 Jessica Jones (2015-)

Some choices were easy, some not. I apologize, Young Justice, but you were up against the king. AoS vs JL was incredibly tough, but since I could comfortably vote for JLU later on (sorry Peggy, still love you!) I went with AoS.

I have seen too little of EMH to give it my vote, so I went with the Flash, mainly for the pleasant memories of the first season when I still really liked (and actually watched) it. I'm somehwat positive that EMH is in fact better and will advance.

TWD vs JJ was also very hard for me to decide. JJ had everything going for it for me to love it, but it became one of my biggest MCU disappointments. TWD on the other hand I stopped watching at least 1 1/2 seasons ago after having had mixed feelings about it for quite a while. In the end I decided to go with Jessica, mostly because of the fact that what I thought the show did do right ultimately felt more profound to me than what TWD has done.

4 Lucifer (2016-)

5 Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

6 Batman: The Animated Series (1992-95)

7 Agent Carter (2015-16)

8 The Walking Dead (2010-), wow what a tough draw for Jessica Jones, at other competition I could see her going further

8 Jessica Jones (2015-) if walking dead kept up like the first 3 seasons it would be amazing. Too many side stories of terrible characters and too much drama.

1 Daredevil (2015-)

2 X-Men (1992-97) (Probably one of the best theme songs... ever)

3 The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (2010-13) (Both good. EMH's art style and Tony's voice turns me off, but Flash's CW teen drama BS drags it down for me. Still love them both)

4 Superman: The Animated Series (1996-2000) (Only seen season 1 of Lucifer. Very formulaic. I can get over that -- looking at you iZombie -- but it's still kinda meh)

5 Justice League (2001-04) ([frick]... AoS gets a bad rap imo due to that shit tier 1st season, but JL is a classic... AoS has seriously improved to the point that I think I may actually enjoy it more than the Netflix shows in some ways. I really like them both...)

6 Batman: The Animated Series (1992-95) (Probably going to bow out of this if BtAS loses to Young Justice)

7 Justice League Unlimited (2004-06) (A classic versus a decent show... eh)

8 (Rather not. I really like them both)

@ICStoopedPeople - agree re: aos. Except season 1 wasn't that bad imo, just not ehat people expected. The worst you call it was 'boring' IMO, it set up a lot of the character dynamics that are still relied on in season 4. The show definitely could've been better, but as with all Whedon shows, it started slowly before becoming amazing (except Firefly which was amazing all the time).

1.: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I'm sorry, but I just cannot compare the two. Spider-Man was the reason I became a young Marvelite, and Daredevil is why I'm still one as an adult.
___________________________________________

2.: X-Men

Teen Titans was great and all, but I feel like X-Men was the objectively better and more impactful series as a whole.
___________________________________________

3.: The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes

The Flash is the first DC entry that made me interested in the Arrowverse, but while it's been declining steadily, Earth's Mightiest Heroes is still as great a show rewatchable as it was in its first viewings.
___________________________________________

4.: Lucifer

Superman succeeded as a part of DC's animated series, but Constantine made fans demand it's return while being on its own, and that says a lot.
___________________________________________

5.: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Going strong for 3+ years, while steadily improving in terms of quality. JL was good, but never THAT good.
___________________________________________

6.: Batman: The Animated Series

Not even a question. Batman TAS was a phenomenal milestone for the entire genre.
___________________________________________

7.: Justice League Unlimited

If Agent Carter had ended within its first season, I feel like it could have been a strong enough contender against the JLU. But as it stands now, it just is not.
___________________________________________

8.: Jessica Jones

The most adult-oriented project to have come out of the MCU yet. Easy choice.

@ossie85 -

Hahaha, I just re-read my comment and I don't even know why I said "Constantine" instead of "Lucifer" in that sentence.

Anyway, thanks for the positive feedback, and congrats on your lists, man!

You didn't include one of my personal favourites though "Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes", but it's alright. Tons of other strong entries.
