The First Appearance of Captain America, Captain America Comics #1, Sells For A Record Price

The first appearance Captain America and Buck has broken the record for the amount of money brought in for that respected issue

On comicconnect.com last night, a group of books from the Atlantic City Collection were brought. Along with the iconic Jack Kirby/Joe Simon comic was Detective Comics #33 and Detective Comics #36.

The Golden Age Marvel, Captain America Comics #1CGC 9.2, is the second best copy of this issue known to exist, the other being a 9.6 and sold a decade ago for $265,000. This issue in particular broke the record sales price and brought in $343,000.



The pre-Robin Detective Comics sold for 198,000

Awesome!! i was jsust in Midtown comics in Manhattan and they had hanging behind the counter Supeman number 2 seling for $2300, lol
It was so cool, I was getting goosebumps just looking at it.
