The First Issue Of SPIDER-GEDDON Featured The Shocking Deaths Of Some Fan-Favorite Spider-Men - SPOILERS

The Spider-Verse event was launched way back in 2014 but Christos Gage and Jorge Molina today released a sequel titled Spider-Geddon. Now that the Inheritors have returned to plague the Earth (you'll have to pick up the issue for yourselves to find out how that happens), you'd best believe that there have been some A-List casualties and you can check out the first two for yourselves below.

As you can see, the first victim is Spider-Man Noir when he attempts to blow Morlun up only to get devoured in the process. Second is the popular Captain Britain/Spider-Man hybrid who has his neck broken despite being one of the most powerful alternate universe Spider-Men. The 616 version of Peter Parker isn't expected to factor into the event beyond tie-in issues, so at least we know he's safe.

Did you guys pick up Spider-Geddon #1? Regardless, share your thoughts on this development below.

@SlowKnife - I hope they make a meta "You sound like Nicolas Cage" mention in the comic haha that'd be great. Kinda like they did with Deadpool (before Reynolds was even playing the Fox version)

I wouldn't call any of them fan favorites by any stretch of the imagination. Morlun could eat them all and then himself, and I doubt any Spider fan would miss the whole crew.

@rabid - I agree, except for Ben Reily because he was the OG clone and the time it was a cool story, there weren't 5000 clones and 20 different Spider people no one cares about, and Miguel O'Hara, they could all die and I wouldn't care.

@Asturgis - Fortunately I didn't see Ben or Miguel anywhere in this terrible comic. Miles and Otto were the only good ones here in this issue. The rest are expendable to me.

But this week wasn't all as terrible as this one for the Spider comics. Venom was great, and so was the What If Peter Parker was the Punisher!

I didn't read this but I read What If? Spider-Man became the Punisher.

Quick review - don't waste your time or money on it.

Wait what? I thought he was all over the cover, didn't know he wasn't going to factor.

I'm happy that Marvel decided to get rid of some spiders. But Noir was the wrong choice for getting killed off. His own universe was pretty damn interesting and unique compared to the other spiders shown here.
But tbh, I kinda hope they get rid of all of them. 616 Peter Parker is the only Spider-Man that should matter.
Spider-Gwen, Miles, UK and so on are lame rip-offs with no unique personality. And Superior Spidey is so overexposed by now, I can't stand him anymore.

@BootyPeep - Come on man, don't get rid of my boy here...

Can he at least stay...please?
ThunderThighs
ThunderThighs - 10/10/2018, 2:35 PM
@Mrcool210 - Okay, he HAS to stay. He has been more like 616 Peter Parker in the whole than the actual 616 Peter Parker has been in last ten years.
Best adaptation of the character so far, even topping my previous favorites like the Spectacular Spider-Man and 90s show or the Raimi trilogy.
