The Marvel Cinematic Universe already has a wide variety of characters and personalities that we have grown to love in the six years since Iron Man made his entrance in 2008. Six years is a short time in growing and establishing a universe, but Marvel has done a fantastic job so far. What with six movies in Phase 1 and five movies in Phase 2, which will end when Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1, 2015, Marvel is a movie making machine at this point. Also with moving into television with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Agent Carter coming to televisions near you in January of 2015, Marvel has given us a weekly dose of their cinematic universe. Introducing characters, original and from the comics, that are too small for the movies have given us a look into the "basement" of the MCU. Also with the new Netflix series which will feature four shows: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage, followed by their team up in The Defenders mini series also on Netflix. This will give us a look into Marvel's more gritty characters and showcase the street level heros of from the Marvel Comics. So without further ado let's dive in to my top 2 characters I want to see added to the MCU and how and when that could be possible.
  1. The Punisher

Frank Castle is the name of the anti hero The Punisher. He resides in New York City and became a vigilante after the brutal murders of his family. Frank Castle would fit in nicely on any one of the ne Netflix shows as a supporting character. He could even show up in the Defenders as part of the team. Just like in the Avengers where Hawkeye and Black Widow were apart of the team but didn't have their own film first. This could be the same for the Punisher. It would be great to see him in the MCU as Marvel recently got the rights reverted back to them. It would be really simple just to add the Punisher into the show as a character that is out for vengeance and he feels the Defenders can help him.

2.Nova

Sam Alexander is the 14 year old Nova. Thrust into being a superhero because his father went missing, he gets his helmet and is trained by none other than Rocket Racoon and Gamora. This would also be fairly simple to add Nova to the MCU because in my opinion we have already seen Nova in the MCU. But not by the name of Sam Alexander, but Harley Keener in Iron Man 3. It would be simple to get around the name situaton as they could say Harley is his middle name and Keener is his mother's last name. It's weird how similar the backstories are for Sam and Harley: Their dad's left/kidnapped, they both come from small towns in the middle of no where and they each have a little sister and a mother that works to keep the family going. My take is that we will see Harley in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 as Nova, seeing as though the actor that played Harley signed a 3 picture deal with Marvel.

3. Purple Man

Zebediah Killgrave is the Purple Man. Originally created as a foe of Daredevil in issue #4 of the first volume of Daredevil comics in 1964. In the early 2000's he became a villain of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Obviously this works out as he could be a villain on any one of the Netflix shows coming up. I don't know how some people will think of a man that is totally purple...seems offensive? but I know he would make a great villain for maybe one episode. He doesn't need to be the main villain.

4. Black Panther

T'Challa aka Black Panter needs no introduction here. Everyone knows he will eventually get his own movie, it's just a matter of time. I personally think he will show up somewhere in Phase 3. Most likely in Avengers 3 or maybe even Captain America 3.

5. Hercules

I know there is already a god in the MCU but just think of how crazy it would be to see the Son of Zeus battle the God of Thunder in live action....enough said I think.

Psssssst.....

You might want to throw in an extra three characters before others show up and act like a collective dick, because the first article excuse often doesn't work around here.

You're on the right track just throw in three more random characters and say you like them.

Very Nicely done!

I definitely agree with Black Panther and he's a pretty obvious choice for them to make at Marvel. In fact I think it's kind of a wonder they haven't put him in the MCU yet.

And Purple Man is a great choice, he's a criminally underrated and utterly cool villain, that they'll hopefully put into the Daredevil show sooner rather than later.

Punisher is one of the best characters in the Marvel Comics Universe, and I think TV is a perfect format for him. If you look at some of the TV shows coming out lately, they have a perfect tone, and level of complexity that would make the Punisher everything we want from the character. The one thing that concerns me is that the Punisher is best when he's a hard R rating, and the MCU is a fairly conservative PG-13 most of the time. Hopefully they can make both work because it would be great to see.

Also as a last note Richard Rider>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Sam Alexander

They could honestly do both Sam Alexander and Richard Rider. Richard Rider could first appear and then either die or straight pass on the helmet later on. I do hope we see Captain Mar-vell first and not go straight to Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel.

Purple Man has a strong chance of showing up in Jessica Jones.

Good list, however I prefer to have Richard Ryder before Sam Alexander.

T'Challa will come at some point, Punisher definitely needs his own netflix series.

Hercules would be awesome, especially with Civil War supposedly happening.

Purple should be a villain on AoS.

Good list.

My 5 under the radar characters I want to see in the MCU.

1 Nick Fury Sr., going with Jackson actually being Fury Jr.
2 Isaiah Bradley, Buffalo Soldier, like to see him in Agent Carter, being a project of Zodiac that is discovered by Peggy and Dum Dum.
3 Night Thrasher, Can we get a New Warriors show or film?
4 Union Jack, been hinted and referenced but has not actually been in costume.
5 Beta Ray Bill, give us Beta Ray before Ragnarok.
