So who is Purple Man exactly? Well his real name is Zebediah Killgrave and he first entered the Marvel comics world in 1964 in issue number 4 of Daredevil. In the comics Killgrave is an international spy that was sent to infilltrate a chemical facility. While in this facility he was accidentally doused with chemicals turning his skin and hair purple. Caught in the chemical facility he was questioned for why he was there and he gave a very inadequate alibi which his captors believed, to Killgraves' surprise. Several more cases of this nature and he realized that the chemicals he was exposed to gave him the ability to manipulate peoples' will and hence the ability to control minds. For obvious reasons this lead Killgrave to embark on a criminal career.

Purple Man was a villain of Daredevil up until the 80's. Then he just disappeared for a while turning up every so often to fight the Man Without Fear. In the early part of the 2000's Purple Man resurfaced as a villain of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. He is very important to the origins of Jessica Jones as in the early part of her superhero career Jessica Jones was known as Jewel. He puts Jessica Jones under his mind control as she is forced to live with Killgrave as he psychologically tortured her for months on end. Killgrave eventually sends her off to kill Daredevil. She accidentally goes after Scarlet Witch instead believing her to be Daredevil. The Avengers subdue Jessica Jones and they break the mind control with help from Jean Grey. He also tries to control Luke Cage but is deceived into believing he has and is beaten to a pulp by Luke Cage.

Purple Man is important to three of the four characters that headline the Netflix series. This leads me to believe that he will at least make an appearence in the shows. If not Daredevil then Jessica Jones in a flashback perhaps. I get that the addition of a purple man is a bit far fetched but it would be awesome to see a character that is such an influence on these characters' be a part of this great venture that is the new Netflix series.

If you think Purple Man should be in any one of these series drop a comment on which one. Alo if there are any other villains or heros you want to see in the MCU also drop a comment.

Remember his episode on the 90's X-Men cartoon. Used his look and powers but not name. It was the episode when Cyclops goes back to his orphanage.
