COMICS: Captain America Becomes Captain Hydra Thanks To A New Costume In SECRET EMPIRE #10
Marvel has announced today that Secret Empire is getting an extra issue this August and the cover for the comic book features a startling new look for Steve Rogers as he suits up as...Captain Hydra?
Secret Empire was originally solicited for nine issues, but as has so often become the case with Marvel's event comics, an extra instalment has now been added. The cover by Mark Brooks is particularly interesting as it featured a "Classified" logo of some sort which seemingly gives away what's to come in the series along with a shot of a triumphant Steve Rogers in a very, very different looking costume.
Yes, Captain America has now become Captain Hydra! Here's what Marvel SVP & Executive Editor, Tom Brevoort had to say about this extra instalment of Secret Empire and what we should expect here.
"[Writer] Nick [Spencer] has constructed each issue of SECRET EMPIRE so that it ends with a climactic twist or a big reveal or a shocking development, and issue #9 is no exception. So moving into the finale, with issue #10, the heroes across the Marvel Universe will be pushed to the breaking point as we race to the exhilarating climax we’ve been planning for months. Oh, and let me say again: we’re not going to use the Cosmic Cube to simply reverse everything away—the stakes matter, maybe more than they ever have before."
