Featuring design work from Production I.G. / Ghost in the Shell SAC designer Paul Nicholson, and artwork from Javier Bordon, Super Robot Mayhem #2 is part of an initial five issue run. Award winning Heavy Metal / Missed Deadline’s Jeremy Biggs is the lead writer on the project, along with newcomer Adrian Mursec.
Imagine Neon Genesis Evangelion, Gundam Wing, Mazinger Z and Transformers, as directed by Ridley Scott, with production design by Akira’s Katsuhiro Otomo, Syd Mead and H.R. Giger, and you’re in the right area for Super Robot MAYHEM!
Raiden Nakamura is infected by an alien virus that causes him to bond with the mysterious mecha MAYHEM. Together, they are the only thing that stands in the way of the invading Demon Imperial Alliance. But Raiden’s union with MAYHEM comes at a price. Slowly losing his identity, Raiden’s battle for control threatens to destroy not only his sense of self, but also the existence of everything he holds dear.
Called onwards by Mayhem’s presence, the DIA fly to our solar system to battle humanity and steal the technology for themselves.
Assisted by his colleagues, and suffering from increasing psychosis due to his link with MAYHEM, Raiden must defend the solar system from the invading imperial force.
Issue #2 picks up directly after issue #1 and follows the aftermath of Mayhem's discovery, the encroaching DIA scout ships and the fate of Raiden Nakamura
