DC Comic-Con '22 Bag Reveals Jim Lee's Take On Movie Versions Of Batgirl, Blue Beetle, JSA, And More

We're just a few weeks away from this year's San Diego Comic-Con, and while the event is still recovering from the worst of COVID, this feels like the first "normal" version of the 'Con since 2019. Marvel Studios will be on hand, likely meaning there are big announcements and reveals on the way, as will DC...to some extent, anyway.

Warner Bros. is expected to have a pared-down presence at the annual convention, with some of its DC TV shows sidelined and potentially only a couple of movies given the spotlight.

In other words, don't expect the typical Hall H presentation from the studio!

We'll see what happens, but DC's Comic-Con exclusive bag has been revealed with artwork by DC Chief Creative Officer and Publisher Jim Lee. Showcasing a variety of heroes and villains from the company's movies, TV shows, and video games, we get a new look at Leslie Grace's Batgirl, Xolo Maridueña's Blue Beetle, and Sasha Calle's Supergirl.

Joining them are Black Adam, Shazam, Aquaman, Michael Keaton's Batman, and plenty of other familiar faces. This artwork was clearly created a few months ago as characters from Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow are featured despite both shows being cancelled by The CW.

We don't know what Warner Bros. Discovery has planned for the DC Extended Universe, though it's clear that new leadership at the studio is going to result in some big changes. This shared world has been in a state of flux for close to a decade now, so it's about damn time someone takes charge in order to deliver the same consistent quality of storytelling as Marvel Studios.

There are a lot of movies to look forward to in the meantime, though, including Black Adam, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and, uh, The Flash.

Check out Lee's take on these iconic characters below:
