DEADPOOL 2: Here Are All The Biggest Reveals And Best Moments From The Cable-Centric New Trailer
Earlier today, Fox released the first full-length trailer for The Untitled Deadpool Sequel and we're now taking a closer look at all the biggest moments and best reveals. Did you guys spot Terry Crews?
There was no sign of the Merc with the Mouth during this year's Super Bowl and while rumours have pointed to the first trailer for Deadpool 2 debuting on the 14th, it arrived earlier today with no warning whatsoever (not even a trailer teaser). Needless to say, it provided an awesome first look at the Marvel movie and all the signs are currently pointing to the sequel being something very special indeed.
We've combed through the trailer to bring you all the biggest and best moments, and we think you'll be surprised by just how much this sneak peek reveals about what's to come when May 18th arrives.
From the unexpected appearance of fan-favourite mutants from the comics to unexpected cameos and huge reveals about what Cable is going to be getting up to, all you need to do is click either one of the buttons below to check out this list in its entirety. What did you guys think of the new teaser trailer?
Some Unexpected New Allies
In this very intriguing shot from the trailer, we see Deadpool and Domino joined by a number of other mutants and one of them is seemingly played by Brooklyn-Nine-Nine's Terry Crews! Chances are he's taking on the role of frequent Wade Wilson ally G.W. Bridge, while the person on the right seems to be comics-accurate looking Shatterstar. Who that is on the left isn't clear, though.
A Not So Thinly Veiled Dig At Justice League
Cable's CGI metal arm is incomplete in this sneak peek and that gives the Merc with the Mouth the opportunity to poke fun at another recent superhero movie in the form of Justice League. "It's a metal arm," he cries, exasperated. "It's not like we're trying to remove a moustache." And with that, Ryan Reynolds just made Henry Cavill's weird Superman face a joke that's never going away!
The Purifiers?
It's thought that the DMC is going to be a cross between the Mutant Response Division and the Purifiers from the comic books and that's seemingly confirmed here with the presence of a poster reading, "Purity, Humanity, Infinity." There are, of course, other villainous groups they may be inspired by but they're clearly going to have a very large part to play in the upcoming sequel.
Prison Break
It certainly looks like the Merc with the Mouth is going to be put behind bars by the DMC at some point in Deadpool 2 and here we see Wade - sans costume - seemingly trying to break out of prison in the middle of what looks an awful lot like a prison riot. The question is, are those scenes from a little earlier in the sneak peek an indication that Cable will be coming to help break him out?
Home Invasion
Cable clearly breaks into Deadpool's home to confront him (and Blind Al) but he's not the only unwanted visitor because the Merc with the Mouth can also be seen taking on some other goons in the comfort of his own home. Who exactly they are isn't made clear in this preview, unfortunately.
Is That The Juggernaut?
Rumours have been swirling that Black Tom Cassidy will be Deadpool 2's big bad and could this be his old pal The Juggernaut? Probably not but he's clearly a very formidable and strong mutant.
An Apocalyptic Future
If you're at all familiar with Cable's comic book adventures, you'll know that Nathan Summers hails from an apocalyptic future after being sent forward in time by his parents (Cyclops and Jean Grey/Madelyn Pryor) to find a cure for the techno-organic virus ravaging his body. Here, we see just how bleak that future is and it certainly doesn't sound like poor old Cable has had an easy life.
A More Serious Tone
Before Deadpool interrupts, the trailer takes on a very serious slant and that could be an indication that this movie will not necessarily be less comedic than its predecessor but that it's going to make less of a joke out of some of its heavier moments (Cable's story arc chief among them).
Hey, It's That Kid From Hunt For The Wilderpeople!
Yes, that is indeed breakout star Julian Dennison from Hunt for the Wilderpeople but other than the fact he's clearly a mutant, there's no way to figure out which character he's playing here.
More Copycat
We haven't heard much about Vanessa Carlysle's role in the Deadpool sequel so it's good to get a glimpse of her here. With any luck, that's an indication she's still very much a big part of Wade's life.
Typical Wade Wilson Weirdness
Ok, so I wasn't the only one panicking that the rest of this trailer was just going to be Deadpool acting out a fight between the Merc with the Mouth and Cable, right? On the plus side, it's extremely funny!
The Women Kick Some Ass
We don't see a whole lot of Domino and Negasonic Teenage Warhead in this trailer but both of them can be seen kicking some ass here and that hopefully means they'll have plenty to do in the movie.
Dopinder Returns
Dopinder was part of some of the funniest scenes in Deadpool and so it's good to see him return here, seemingly for a huge action sequence featuring Wade. How he managed to return to his old job after kidnapping his love rival is hard to say but expect him to deliver plenty of laughs here.
Still No Title
Did you pick up on this? Deadpool 2 still doesn't have an official title - it is called The Untitled Deadpool Sequel or simply Deadpool 2? - and the trailer doesn't feature one. Could it be that Fox isn't ready to reveal that or are Ryan Reynolds and company trolling all of us and making us wait for it?
Reunited With Colossus
Well, I think this pretty much speaks for itself, don't you?
