Comic book fans have spent years complaining about Wolverine's height in the MCU, but a fan-made image has changed the Deadpool 3 first look to showcase just how weird a 5'3" Wolvie would look on screen!

We can surely all agree that Hugh Jackman is a great Wolverine, but a sticking point from the start has been the actor's height. At 6'2", he's considerably taller than the character's comic book counterpart who clocks in at a diminutive 5'3".

It would be wrong to say Logan's height doesn't matter as it's often a big part of who he is as a person and the way he approaches a battle.

Jackman has more than made up for any size issues with his compelling performance but there were still complaints earlier this week when our first look at Deadpool 3 was officially unveiled.

Many fans couldn't help but point out how wrong it looked for Wolverine to be the same height as Wade Wilson, but is this any better?

Horrifying.

That, however, is what it would look like if you had a 5'3" Jackman standing alongside the 6'2" Reynolds. Simply put, it doesn't work, and while the next Wolverine could be an actor who is shorter than the Deadpool 3 star, we really think going this small will look utterly ridiculous.

For what it's worth, it's not just fans who have expressed concerns about Wolvie's height on screen. Jackman has previously revealed that X-Men producer Tom DeSanto shared concerns and confirmed many of his scenes in that movie were shot in a way meant to make the actor look smaller than he really is.

That's a surprise given filmmaker Bryan Singer's apparent lack of interest in adhering to the comic books, though Jackman later confessed the idea was dropped in subsequent movies.

Someone else who appears to be having fun with the recent height complaints is Ryan Reynolds...

Deadpool 3 is set to be released in theaters on May 3, 2024.

They've got to do OG Wolvie and not even mention what is going on. It'd be brilliant.

Thank you!!! All of these people screaming comic accurate this and comic accurate that are delusional. If you want comic accurate read the comics. The visual medium should be guided by the comics but should not need to adhere to them.

@Forthas - anyone with even rudimentary Photoshop skills would never claim they made this caricature. Nothing is in proportion, this is ridiculous, but for all the wrong reasons.

Maybe not 5'3, but he should be "shorter" than most "heroes" he interacts with. Maybe go for 5'7 or 5'8 if most other heroes are over 6 feet. IDK

@DCfan84 - 5'7 and 5'8 is the nation average, whole point of Logan is he's short, that being said it might look ridiculous since most of the actors they pick are above 5 ft 8, well except for Downey and Holland.

@Taonrey - I get that, and agree. But a 5'3 Wolverine may work in comics and how he's depicted in them compared to the other heroes, but live action is a completely different situation. Holland is supposed to be a kid, so it's fine there. They made Downey appear bigger than he is by camera work, also, you'll notice whenever he's shown with Pepper, she's either Barefoot or in Flats to equalize Downey's height...plus camera work.

@DCfan84 - I think you're right with the 5'7ish range. Tom Holland is around that height and he looks pretty tiny compared to a lot of the actors he shares the screen with. If they get a 5'7 actor that has wide shoulders, and is built, I feel like that would be perfect for Wolverine. Truly any height works, but it would be nice if he wasn't looking eye to eye with the over 6ft heroes.
