While there's a lot of intrigue surrounding how Deadpool will fit into the MCU, no one has really stopped to ask what it will actually be like when the Merc with the Mouth shares the screen with Wolverine in Deadpool 3.

Their team-ups are always a joy on the page, but we know all too well that what works in the comic books doesn't always translate to live-action. During a recent interview with The Wrap, Ryan Reynolds addressed having the fourth-wall-breaking Wade Wilson cross paths with Hugh Jackman's far more serious Logan.

"I think it’s a tightrope walk," the actor admits. "I mean most of these movies are always a tightrope walk of tone, so in this instance, though, you have a collision of two pretty iconic characters that exist in the Marvel Ancillary Universe [laughs] — we’re in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at this point."

The "MAU"? That has a ring to it. Reynolds is, of course, jokingly referring to Fox's X-Men Universe, and while Deadpool 3 will begin there, we anticipate it ending with the foul-mouthed mercenary as a permanent part of the MCU.

For Reynolds, though, it's vital to make sure the threequel does both characters justice.

"It’s really kind of finding a way to service both of these characters that feels extraordinarily authentic to each of them," he adds, "and I think these two wrongs actually will make a right in a pretty great way."

Cameras haven't started rolling on the movie yet, but we can't help but think we're in store for something special. Reliable scoopers have claimed Owen Wilson's Mobius will appear, while the cast of 2005's Fantastic Four movie is also expected to show up. Hopefully, that means these two reluctant allies are taking a road trip through the Multiverse!

Wolverine & Deadpool Deadpool 3 is set to be released in theaters on November 8, 2024.
