Ryan Reynolds Says He's Not In DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS; Teases DEADPOOL 3 Status

Despite rumours to the contrary, Ryan Reynolds insists we won't see him make his MCU debut as Deadpool in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and shares an update on the status of Deadpool 3...

Earlier today, we told you about a theory doing the rounds that Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool might be hidden on the latest poster for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

If the Merc with the Mouth is being pulled into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then it would make sense for Wade Wilson to step through a portal and into this world. According to the actor, who has been doing the rounds to promote Netflix's The Adam Project, we won't see him in Sam Raimi's highly anticipated Doctor Strange sequel.

"I'm really not in the movie," Reynolds insisted during an interview with Variety. When they put it to the actor he could be lying, he added: "I’m promising, I’m not in the movie."

We've heard that before (here's looking at you, Andrew Garfield!).

As for Deadpool 3, Reynolds was similarly noncommittal, saying only that the threequel "[is] coming along." Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin are penning the screenplay, but there's still no word on a director, so it's no real wonder the Wade Wilson actor didn't have much to share. Hopefully, he is telling a little white lie here as Deadpool showing up would be a real treat in Stephen Strange's next big screen adventure (especially with all those rumoured cameos).

Time will tell, but given the apparent serious nature of Raimi's movie, it's possible Deadpool might be too much of a distraction seeing as everywhere he goes, comedy and craziness usually follows!

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released in theaters on May 6.

I don't think Deadpool would fit in this movie anyway. the trailer was already surprisingly serious, if the movie actually follows suit it would be a complete tonal whiplash from having this weirdo going "oh hi, I guess I'm here too, sucks that Fox got bought out am I right? wink wink".

What’s funny is last week I looked it up on Google and he was included on the cast list and this week he’s not. 🤷‍♂️

Hope he's just on some BS. It's been long enough since Deadpool made an appearance, and this would be a great movie to bring him into the MCU.

I know America Chavez is going to have some jokes, and the Wong/Strange banter will still be there, but it is noticable that there isn't a single bit of humor in either of these trailers. I'm sure the multiverse stuff will have some natural funniness but this really doesn't feel like a thing where there will be any tonal space for Deadpool, especially Reynolds' version

These denials are so meaningless now.😂 They often mean the opposite. "I'm not in it". = "Of course I'm in it".
