On Sunday night, Marvel Studios dropped a new trailer and poster for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. With so many rumours surrounding Sam Raimi's sequel, it's no wonder fans are combing every frame of footage for clues and hints about what to expect (you can find our in-depth breakdown by clicking here). Are they on to something, though?
When Stephen Strange is brought before the Illuminati in the preview, there's a shadowy figure among them who many believe could be Mister Fantastic. The Fantastic Four have yet to be introduced in the MCU, of course, but this could be Ioan Gruffudd or (less likely) Miles Teller, reprising the role of Reed Richards similar to Sir Patrick Stewart as Professor X.
Another possibility is that John Krasinski will play Mister Fantastic here either for the first time or as a one-off to make all those fan castings a reality. If it's the latter, a lot of people will inevitably be disappointed with whoever is cast as the MCU's permanent Reed, and they'll have big shoes to fill.
While we can buy into that potentially being a Variant of the Fantastic Four leader, we're not sure about theories that Deadpool is on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' latest poster.
The Doctor Strange sequel would be the perfect place to bring the Merc with the Mouth into the MCU, so we're certainly not ruling out the possibility of an appearance. Whether Marvel Studios is teasing that here is up for debate, but you can kind of see Wade Wilson...well, if you squint, anyway!
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will arrive in theaters worldwide on May 6.
