Some of you may know me as the Merc with the Mouth. And it’s time to get mouthy. Prepare to get Deadpooled. Couple things I’d like to get off my chest: I’m a mercenary for hire with an accelerated healing factor. I like to run my mouth. Some say I’m unstable but I’m very stable. (What about that time we beat the dude with his own arms?) (That doesn’t count) And if you want to know what gets me going in the mornings, it’s chimichangas! (Mmmmm Chimichangas) WHOA, I feel better now. All right. I’m gonna battle for the safety of humans (and bewbs!) and mutants. (and bewbs!) That’s right, $#*! just got real!

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) - was directed by Gavin Hood, from a script written by David Benioff and Skip Woods. The film starred: Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston, Lynn Collins, Taylor Kitsch, Kevin Durand and Ryan Reynolds. The movie grossed over $370 million at the worldwide box office.

Not a subject I would choose to defend, that was a horrible misrepresentation of the character. A child could see that. But, that is what the studio payed them to make. Again, I just wouldn't highlight it by picking and jabbing at Deadpool fans.

These guys are both talented (look at that 'Deadpool head', it's beautiful) but they aren't really responsible for what Deadpool ended up becoming.

They were responsible for making what Wade Wilson became look convincing. They got an order and they did a job.

Granted a lot of the final idea of what 'Deadpool' became in the film doesn't make sense (he has a super healing factor but needed staples to hold the wound over his left eye together, He has retractable blades that run so long he shouldn't be able to bend his elbow when sheathed) but the makeup itself DID look great.

Terrible, terrible movie though.

There is a special place in hell for the person who is responsible for this thing which I can't call Deadpool because it's obviously not Deadpool.

@TheDarkPhoenix

It's Tom Rothman's fault, ultimately.

A control freak who repainted sets to make them look less 'dark' and basically cut the nuts off the bloodless Origins: Wolverine to the point where Logan may as well have had styrofoam claws.

My main problem with the film was that it didn't make sense conceptually not just with the continuity of the other films but with the character of Wolverine himself.

The main dilemma Wolverine faced was that he had a past that was so bloody and terrible that having it revealed to him could potentially be psychologically damaging.

Does he want the dark past of his personal brutal behavior brought into the light with the help of Xavier, or should he simply take this amnesia as a chance to rewrite himself into a better person?

There's the problem with this film.

According to it, Wolverine did NOT have a violent and bloody past. He was not only happy and in love, he ran with a bunch of mercenaries who he always tried to put a leash on when it came to violence. He was constantly stopping them and his brother from 'going to far'.

In essence, he wasn't a bad man at all. In fact, in Origins, he seemed a lot happier in the past than he did in the present.

In his past, he was a 'good guy' who fell in love and always tried to do the right thing.

So what was the point of all the angst then?

the biggest surprise is that not only Fox is responsible but Marvel as well.

I think that another problem is that EVERYBODY wanted to have creative control over this movie, and thought they are the boss.

But the biggest problem : David Benioff. That's where the problem starts. With the script. If you think Deadpool was wasted just look at Wolverine origin story.
That's what you get when you think you are smarter than the source material. Shoulda read Weapon X first.

P.S. I never thought about slicing and dicing the StudioADI for X - Men origins :Wolverine.
They just doing what they were paid for. And they did a good job with what they had. Everything begins with the script. Then goes the studio. Producers. They like a bottom of the food chain. Really. Or am I wrong ?

1) They do really good make-up. The art is great. The failure is in the design of Deadpool.
2) Someone please tell them to stop correcting grammer on e-mails. How about they spend more time on the concepts.
3) I understand their job is to follow what the producers, director, and studio execs want. But an artists' job is to steer a client into something that makes sense.
4) The thought of it as a pre-Deadpool makes sense. But for that to work, then a sequel with Wade would have to have been in the works before.
5) Who's F'n idea was it to seal his mouth? It works for a second as a stupid joke.
6) The idea of it being to cover the face off a stunt double makes sense. Hide the face a bit to get away with it. I get that. But a mask would have worked a lot easier.
7) Why aren't they revealing some of the other concept art they did for Deadpool?
8) Marvel was on board with this? Really? So that means that Marvel has a say in FOX's movies. Right!!!!?

I never would have blamed the FX team for that screw up anyway.
I said it to many times to count, the studio is at fault. FOX sucks,
Their writing team sucks! The movie was a train wreck before those
FX guys ever picked up the clay.

With the rumors of the Deadpool script getting some attention all of a sudden, talks of a sequel to "The Wolverine",and with the release of this clip makes me think that the studio wants to get fans drawn back into Deadpool for the future X-Force movies.

I just want to see the script made into a movie that supposedly the studio is not sure about. I think Ryan would do it right. The report of Deadpool knowing he's in a movie and trashing the last outing would be great. Most likely it'll get watered down or parts of it will get moved into an X-Force movie.

like everyone, I was pretty bummed with how Wade turned out in the last act. That being said... I thought the firsts act Wade Wilson, pre weapon XI, was exactly the Wade Wilson I expected from Reynolds. I could also almost except the premise that this was supposed to be a sort of "pre-deadpool". Even with the mouth sealed... that could have made for some interesting scenes with him trying to unseal his face... but the sin of all sins, the one that sealed this characters fate in my opinion was the swords in the arms. that basically killed the Deadpool we know, in my opinion. There was no turning back from that one... All that being said... I did enjoy reynolds as wade wilson and loved the leaked script online, so I still hope they try and "reboot" the character with Reynolds starring.
