Charlie Cox made his MCU debut in last December's Spider-Man: No Way Home, later returning as the Man Without Fear in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Echo is thought to be next for the actor, while the eighteen-episode Daredevil: Born Again is also on the horizon.
Will Deadpool 3 also follow?
During a recent appearance at Germany's Roster Con, Cox joked that "there's a place for Daredevil to show up in Deadpool," before adding, "Great, now that'll be a news story." He wasn't wrong, and the "news" soon went viral, leading to a mistaken belief online that we can expect the actor to suit up for Deadpool 3 alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
Talking to TechRadar, the British actor clarified his remarks. "Oh god, what did I say again?" he asked. "Oh yeah, I said that in Germany, didn't I? I can tell you now, I'm definitely not in Deadpool 3."
"If it ends up being true, I've inadvertently spoiled something," Cox added. "If it isn't, fans who are excited about something I say will end up being disappointed."
It was always a little strange to think that Daredevil might cross paths with the Merc with the Mouth as the two characters don't share much in the way of history on the page. If there's a crossover that fans would like to see, it's Spider-Man and Deadpool, though there's a very vocal desire for the web-slinger to one day cross paths with 'ol Hornhead too.
Even if Cox's time as the hero ends with Daredevil: Born Again, his time in the MCU more than makes up for the fact Netflix never ended up making Daredevil season 4.
However, there's no indication that will be the case, and we'd say it's pretty obvious Marvel Studios has big plans for the hero. With that in mind, we'd be shocked if he doesn't eventually cross paths with even more of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
