Work on Deadpool 3 is expected to resume imminently in the UK, and thanks to Dogpool's official Instagram account, we have a new look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe's weirdest Variant to date.

"Just letting it all hang out," reads the caption of a post we're sure would make the R-Rated Wade Wilson proud. The photo was taken by Wendy Jacobson, an executive producer on high-octane action movies like San Andreas, Rampage, and Skyscraper (all of which starred Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson).

However, before you start getting excited about the possibility of the Black Adam star showing up in Deadpool 3, it's worth pointing out that Jacobson was also a producer on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, a role she'll presumably be taking on this threequel as well.

Rumours persisted for months that Dogpool might appear in this movie, and her - yes, they've gender-swapped the character - MCU debut was made official shortly after the SAG-AFTRA strike ended.

In the comics, Dogpool is a member of the Deadpool Corps and was experimented on by Mascara X, a cosmetics company. Ultimately, he was mutated and gained the power to heal himself and, after being left for dead in a dumpster, escaped and joined the circus.

Dubbed "Deadpool the Daredevil Dog," he performed before his adoring fans before being recruited by the Merc with the Mouth into the Multiversal Deadpool Corps.

With so much else bound to be going on, we're not banking on Marvel Studios taking the time to explore that. Dogpool's inclusion in the movie shouldn't necessarily be taken as confirmation that this is a Multiversal adventure, as she may well just be Wade Wilson's pet pooch!

Alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, Deadpool franchise vets Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio), and Rob Delaney (Peter) are all set to return in this threequel.

Emma Corrin is expected to play Cassandra Nova, while Matthew Macfadyen will likely take on the role of a TVA agent named Paradox. It's also been confirmed that Jennifer Garner will reprise her role as Elektra, with Liev Schreiber, James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Wesley Snipes, and even singer Taylor Swift (potentially as Dazzler) among those rumoured or expected to appear.

Deadpool 3 is set to be released in theaters on July 26, 2024.
