DEADPOOL 3 Casts PENNYWORTH And THE CROWN Star Emma Corrin In Mystery Villain Role

With cameras set to begin rolling on Deadpool 3 later this year, Ryan Reynolds has just taken to Twitter to announce that The Crown and Lady Chatterley's Lover star Emma Corrin (they/them) has joined the threequel's cast.

The actor, best known for playing Princess Diana in the aforementioned Netflix series, is no stranger to comic book adaptations after a handful of appearances in Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman's Butler as Esme Winikus.

"New addition to the family! The Deadpool family, for clarity," Reynolds shared. "Which is just like a real family except with less swearing... Welcome, Emma Corrin!"

Deadline has revealed that they will be playing a villain in the movie, so we're assuming Corin has been tapped as the lead female baddie we heard would take centre stage a few months ago. There are literally countless possibilities when it comes to who they could be playing, especially with this story expected to take us on a road trip through the Multiverse.

Apparently, Marvel Studios has been eyeing Corrin for this role since the holidays, but had to work around their busy schedule. Now, they're fully on board.

With any luck, Reynolds will be using his massive social media presence to continue dropping casting announcements about the threequel in the coming weeks. Owen Wilson is rumoured to be showing up as TVA agent Mobius, while we also expect Sir Patrick Stewart to reprise his role as Professor X alongside Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.

Beyond that, there's a very good chance Deadpool 3 will feature many familiar faces from Fox's X-Men Universe, especially with this movie likely serving as a farewell to that era of storytelling.

Deadpool 3 is set to be released in theaters on November 8, 2024.

Look forward to finding out who she’s playing… Boom Boom? Dazzler? Lady Deadpool? Danger?

@Jackraow21 - I'm still holding out for Blake Lively to play Lady Deadpool. Danger would be interesting to see, I remember seeing somewhere that the movie will have a female villian.

@HistoryofMatt - language is always changing. The English you speak today would be foreign and ridiculed 300 years ago

@Vigor - You're talking about adding loanwords or changing spelling / pronunciation.

The correct usage of language would be "it." I'm not saying you can't be whatever you fancy yourself to be, but for the love of grammar, stop butchering the language to fit your fancy.

@Vigor - The English people speak today would be foreign and ridiculous 20-30 years ago. Hell, it's ridiculed now.

@RedFury - Not with this usage. It is acceptable in specific situations only.

In this situation, "it" is the appropriate terminology.

@HistoryofMatt - oops, hit the delete button on my previous comment *face palm*.
From my understanding, if you do not specify the gender of an individual, you may use "they" as a word to describe them. I would think "it" would come into play only if you didn't know the species of whatever is being written about.

And in this case we know the subject is a person, but one that does not wish to use their gender in being described. Therefore wouldn't "they" be the proper grammer?

@HistoryofMatt - The singular "they" has been in use in English since at least the 14th century. "You" used to be only singular until the 17th century, when it became both singular and plural. Language evolves.

@slickrickdesigns - That’s what I was thinking, if she is indeed playing a villain, Death would make sense for a multiversal adventure
