On many superhero films, you always hear about how the script is constantly in flux or that there isn't really much of a script at all.
In a new interview that centered on Levy securing a Golden Globe nomination for All The Light earlier this morning, the director revealed that he was taking a congratulatory phone call while on the Deadpool 3 set in London.
Touching on that project, Levy stated that the delay caused by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA dual strikes wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
"We’re happily back at work, and now that we know it’s coming out next summer, we are working our asses off to make the best movie possible and it’s feeling good," said Levy of Deadpool 3.
He went on to add that he and Ryan Reynolds gained more, "time to get to know and think about" what they'd already shot for Deadpool 3 while on hiatus due to the strikes. "It does feel like we’re back at it freshly and more deeply informed about what this movie wants to be."
Levy also stated that he'll be working on Deadpool 3 "all the way through delivery and release" (is that a reference to The Marvels' Nia DaCosta situation) before working on the final season of Netflix's Stranger Things.
Filmmaking credits for Deadpool 3 include Levy as director and co-writer alongside Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells, and Ryan Reynolds.
The film co-stars Reynolds stars as Wade Wilson / Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Also appearing are Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Jennifer Garner as Elektra.
Additionally, Leslie Uggams' Blind Al will be returning along with Karan Soni as Dopinder, Stefan Kapičić as Colossus, and Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio. Emma Corrin is set to play an undisclosed villain while Matthew Macfadyen also has a mystery role.
Set photos have confirmed that X-Men villains Sabertooth and Toad are also slated to appear.
With Deadpool 3 seemingly set to deal with multiversal travel, unconfirmed rumors also state that the Time Variance Authority's Mobius M. Mobius played by Owen Wilson and Miss Minutes (voiced by Tara Strong) are also set to appear, although the events of Loki season 2 now put that rumor in the "unlikely" category.
