We recently got a first glimpse of Hugh Jackman on the set of Deadpool 3, and, much to the delight of Wolverine fans, he was wearing his classic blue and yellow costume from the comic books.
Of course, a significant part of the ensemble was missing!
Recent rumors have indicated that Logan will don his iconic mask, but the fact that Jackman wasn't wearing it in any of the set photos we've seen so far has led to some scepticism. There's also concern that the mask might end up being one of those tech/CGI generated helmets the likes of Star-Lord and Black Panther utilize.
Honestly, we can't see Jackman, Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson) and director Shawn Levy deciding to debut the costume and leaving out the mask, so we'd say it's only a matter of time before it shows up.
In the meantime, this fan-art from spdrmnkyxxiii might give us a pretty good idea of what it'll look like.
Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Rob Delaney (Peter), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead) And Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio) will all return as their respective characters, and they'll be joined by franchise newcomers Emma Corrin (The Crown) and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession), whose roles are still under wraps.
We recently learned that Jennifer Garner will return as Elektra.
Plot details also remain a mystery for now, but Wade and Wolvie are expected to find themselves (trapped?) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A recent rumor claimed that Loki's TVA, including Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Miss Minutes, will be involved. We have also been led to believe that Wade's MCU debut will be far more integral to Phase 5 and beyond than we first realized.
Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3, which is set to hit theaters on September 6, 2024.
