Deadpool 3 is shaping up to be the Multiverse Saga's biggest movie to date, with this reality-hopping threequel likely to set the stage for the next Avengers movies.

The list of rumoured cameos is seemingly endless, and we recently learned that Dafne Keen is expected to make an appearance as X-23. If so, the actress - who is now 18 - will almost certainly suit up, potentially in her X-Force uniform or as the MCU's female Wolverine.

Now, scooper @CanWeGetToast is claiming that Logan's son, Daken, is also set to make an appearance in Deadpool 3.

There's no word on who will play the character, but it would be a fun role for any actor to tackle even if it is for just a few minutes of screentime. While we'll have to wait and see whether this pans out, it's become clear Marvel Studios is taking a deep dive into the X-Men Universe for the Merc with the Mouth and Wolverine's long-awaited team-up.

Daken, whose real name is Akihiro, first appeared in Wolverine: Origins #10 in 2007. Daken is the son of Wolverine and his wife Itsu and possesses many of his father's abilities, including a healing factor, retractable claws (though his claws extend from his wrists, not his knuckles), and enhanced senses.

Daken has a complicated and conflicted relationship with Wolverine and has alternated between being an antagonist and an anti-hero. Manipulative, cunning, and morally ambiguous, Daken has been a member of various teams, including the Dark Avengers.

We recently caught up with Deadpool star Morena Baccarin and asked whether she thinks Vanessa will finally suit up as Copycat, blue skin and all, in the upcoming threequel or beyond.

"[Laughs] I think, yes!" she says in the video below "But I think she's also competing with a very large universe..."

Alongside Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, Deadpool franchise vets Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio), and Rob Delaney (Peter) are all set to return in this threequel.

Emma Corrin is expected to play Cassandra Nova, while Matthew Macfadyen will likely take on the role of a TVA agent named Paradox. It's also been confirmed that Jennifer Garner will reprise her role as Elektra, with Wesley Snipes, James Marsden, Famke Janssen, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Dafne Keen, and even singer Taylor Swift among those rumoured to appear.

Deadpool 3 is set to be released in theaters on July 26, 2024.
