Last night, Ryan Reynolds broke the news that he will finally team up with Hugh Jackman in Marvel Studios' Deadpool 3. While the actors have shared the screen before, X-Men Origins: Wolverine wasn't the Deadpool/Wolverine team-up that comic book fans have spent decades dreaming of.
As exciting as the news may be, it's left us with a lot of questions. Now, both Reynolds and Jackman have appeared in a new video to provide some answers. It's just a shame we can't hear most of them!
The teaser kicks off with Reynolds confirming that Logan will not be negatively affected in any way by Deadpool 3. As the actor points out, that story took place in 2029, and with the threequel set to be released in 2024, there's a whole five-year gap in which Professor X could lose control and send Wolverine into hiding after the death of his fellow X-Men.
That news will be welcomed as Logan is often hailed as a masterpiece, but when it comes to everything else, Wham!'s Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go starts playing and we're forced to just watch the two actors as they get very animated about what's to come when Deadpool and Wolverine finally share the screen.
The biggest unanswered question, of course, is how Deadpool 3 fits into the wider MCU. All signs currently point to it being set in Fox's X-Men Universe, though we have to believe the nature of the Multiverse means the movie will end with Wade Wilson somehow becoming a permanent part of the world that's inhabited by The Avengers.
Reynolds and Jackman no doubt recorded a lot of content like this, so we're hoping to see a lot more from them between now and September 6, 2024.
