Deadpool 2 star Zazie Beetz recently dropped a hint that she might be set to return as Domino for the upcoming MCU threequel, and a new rumor is claiming that the Joker actress is now officially in talks to reprise the role.
It was probably only a matter of time before these kind of reports started doing the rounds after last week's massive Hugh Jackman/Wolverine news, but the source (Daniel Richtman's patreon) is fairly reliable, and it only makes sense that Marvel Studios would try to keep the band together heading into this movie - though we're still not sure if the likes of Cable (Josh Brolin), Colossus (Stefan Kapičić) or Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) will be back in action.
Shawn Levy will direct Deadpool 3, which is being developed as Marvel Studios' first R-rated movie.
Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick recently gave fans some idea of what to expect from the plot when they described the threequel as a "fish-out-of-water story" that will "drop a lunatic into a very sane world." They also suggested that the powers that be have been very "hands off," and nothing is off limits for ol' Deadpool to "poke fun at."
Of course, Logan's involvement raises a few more questions. Will he be joining Wade Wilson in The MCU, or will Deadpool 3 start out in the "FoxVerse" before bringing Mr. Pool into Marvel Studios' shared world alone? We know Jackman is set to make more than just a cameo, so the latter seems unlikely.
At any rate, with a release date set and production expected to kick-off early next year, we should get some official casting news fairly soon.
