Ryan Reynolds Confirms That DEADPOOL 3 Is Officially In The Works At Marvel Studios

Ever since Disney bought out 20th Century Fox, there's been speculation that a third Deadpool movie was in development. Despite the persistent rumors, we've never really had anything solid to go on from anyone directly involved with the property... until now.

During a Christmas Eve appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan, Wade Wilson actor Ryan Reynolds confirmed that The Merc with a Mouth has indeed found a new home at Marvel, and that the "whole team" is working on a third solo outing for the character.

"Yeah we're working on it right now with the whole team," Reynolds said. "We're over at Marvel [Studios] now, which is like the big leagues all of a sudden. It's kinda crazy. So yeah, we're working on it."

Deadpool is a very popular character and the first two movies were big money-spinners for Fox, so it's hardly a surprise that Marvel Studios has made another project featuring the wise-cracking mercenary a priority. The big question is, will it be R-rated?

It's hard to imagine a PG-13 take on Deadpool (Wade being watered down for Disney could work as a meta joke, but for an entire movie?), but it's equally as difficult to envision the Mouse House embracing the full-on, F-bomb laden gore-fests we were treated to in Deadpool 1 and 2.

For now, fans are sure to be happy that something is in the works, but we'll just have to wait and see what form that takes. Let us know what you'd like to see from a Marvel Studios Deadpool movie in the comments.

If it's Rated R, then I still expect it to go under the 20th Century Fox logo. It's a Marvel brand, but not THE Marvel brand.

But Disney controls all, so they're one big, monopolized... I mean, happy family

@KWilly - They’ve confirmed that it will be R-rated. I think Disney should release it under the Fox banner along but also show the Marvel Studios logo at the start. Kind of like how the Spider-Man movies are released through Sony but with Marvel Studios.

@MovieMonster - You know what would be hilarious? If Deadpool 3 started out with the MCU logo, but has the 20th Century FOX music blaring instead of the regular Marvel intro music.

@KWilly - monopolized? They release fewer movies than every other studio. If wb and aony drop the ball on their ips like Men in Black, spider-man (pre marvel), dc, monster verse, lego, pokemon, men in black how is that Disneys fault?

Given the trust built up over the last 10 years Im willing to be optimistic but Im still gonna be cautious. In all honetsy Im happy to be done with the MCU now that the Infinity Saga has concluded but regardless of where it comes from good movies will always be welcome.

he truly is DP so this is a good thing .... Marvel shouldn't bother them but just oversee that we don't get DP2 ...

@Kman - large majority of people loved DP2 (me included), as is shown by wvery rating there is.

So, majority of people that has seen it will be very happy to get another DP2.

Will this be better than Deadpool? More than likely

Will this be better than Deadpool 2? LOL Definitely

Do I want this?

Much more excited about the idea of Marvel exploring literally any other character, especially since the DP franchise already used Collosus and Juggernaut, as well as countless other allusions to the Fox versions of the X-team. You can obviously have DP exist outside of any continuity and there's tons of jokes baked into him basically being "rebooted" in a sequel......but I'd much rather they just introduced him down the line where he can be a fresh, off the wall character rather than a leading man
