Deadpool 3 will bring back several supporting players from the Merc with a Mouth's previous movies, but, unfortunately, it sounds like Domino will not be among them.
Zazie Beetz has previously dropped some hints that she might be set to reprise her role as the perennially lucky mutant, and a rumor did the rounds that she was in talks to return shortly after we learned that Hugh Jackman's Wolverine would be joining Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) for his MCU debut.
However, the Atlanta star has now plainly stated that she won't appear in the threequel.
While speaking to Beetz about her new show, Full Circle, Decider asked the actress for her thoughts on the recent report that Reynolds wouldn't be able to ad-lib any dialogue because of the ongoing WGA strike.
“Well, I’m actually not in Deadpool 3, so I don’t know what they’re doing [about improvisation]. I’m assuming they’re probably taking a pause. […] I’m excited to watch it,” Beetz responded.
If Domino is not involved, it's probably safe to assume that we won't see Josh Brolin's Cable, either.
Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Rob Delaney (Peter), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead) And Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio) will all return as their respective characters, and they'll be joined by franchise newcomers Emma Corrin (The Crown) and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession), whose roles are still under wraps.
Plot details also remain a mystery for now, but Wade and Wolvie are expected to find themselves (trapped?) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A recent rumor claimed that Loki's TVA, including Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Miss Minutes, will be involved.
We have also been led to believe that Wade's MCU debut will be far more integral to Phase 5 and beyond than we first realized.
Deadpool 3 is set to hit theaters on September 6, 2024.
