Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have released a new Deadpool 3 FAQ, answering some of the biggest questions we've had since the news about Wolverine's MCU debut broke last night...well, kind of, anyway.

Last night, Ryan Reynolds broke the news that he will finally team up with Hugh Jackman in Marvel Studios' Deadpool 3. While the actors have shared the screen before, X-Men Origins: Wolverine wasn't the Deadpool/Wolverine team-up that comic book fans have spent decades dreaming of.

As exciting as the news may be, it's left us with a lot of questions. Now, both Reynolds and Jackman have appeared in a new video to provide some answers. It's just a shame we can't hear most of them!

The teaser kicks off with Reynolds confirming that Logan will not be negatively affected in any way by Deadpool 3. As the actor points out, that story took place in 2029, and with the threequel set to be released in 2024, there's a whole five-year gap in which Professor X could lose control and send Wolverine into hiding after the death of his fellow X-Men.

That news will be welcomed as Logan is often hailed as a masterpiece, but when it comes to everything else, Wham!'s Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go starts playing and we're forced to just watch the two actors as they get very animated about what's to come when Deadpool and Wolverine finally share the screen.

The biggest unanswered question, of course, is how Deadpool 3 fits into the wider MCU. All signs currently point to it being set in Fox's X-Men Universe, though we have to believe the nature of the Multiverse means the movie will end with Wade Wilson somehow becoming a permanent part of the world that's inhabited by The Avengers.

Reynolds and Jackman no doubt recorded a lot of content like this, so we're hoping to see a lot more from them between now and September 6, 2024.

@ShimmyShimmyYA - I wonder if this is like the time when Benedict Cumberbatch spoiled the entire mystery of how Sherlock faked his death at the end of season 2 but on fast-forward so it was almost impossible to understand anything. But he actually did say the truth in it. Maybe some audio experts or lip readers can get something out of this. XD

Jackman showing his age. I wonder if they will factor that into the movie somehow

@Vigor - Probably no more than a joke or two about it. But also when he puts the size back on it will fill out his face more so he'll look a bit younger than he does now.

@thewanderer - I wouldn’t take issue with it but I still lean toward keeping the guy. You see what I mean? It’s not that I would be unhappy, but def happier the other way.

@TheWalkingCuban - I think we're lucky we're getting what we're getting.

Jackman's not going to be the longterm Wolverine at this point, so it makes sense to do a one off movie in a separate universe, and then introduce your new Wolverine at the end of the movie or at a later date.

TheWalkingCuban - 9/28/2022, 10:17 AM
@thewanderer - But to be so close to avengers versus X-Men with Logan and let’s say a multi-verse Tony or resurrected or whatever… dude, Goosebumps Part 3: The First 2 Don’t Count. As far as we are lucky and we should be thankful, sure. But I’m a nerd on a nerdy website. It ain’t the same as having running water and healthy children. It’s frivolous crap. Complaining is half the fun

@TheWalkingCuban - I see Avengers vs X-Men happening someday, but at the end of Phase 9 (ending "The Mutant Saga").

We are just finishing up Phase 4.

We are solidly 10 years away from an Avengers vs X-Men movie IMO.
TheWalkingCuban
TheWalkingCuban - 9/28/2022, 10:29 AM
@thewanderer - Honestly you’re probably right, and just as cosmic and earthly converged as the last couple avengers, so might Dark avengers and a multi-verse.
thewanderer
thewanderer - 9/28/2022, 10:38 AM
@TheWalkingCuban - I think we'll also before that see "Avengers: Civil War (II?)", where the Avengers are split on how to deal with the rising mutant population.

Off Topic, I wish they could go back and make a few slight changes to Dark Phoenix. There's about 90 minutes of a really good "X-Men: Civil War" movie in there to build around.

@thewanderer - Dark Phoenix sure but hear me out: Wanda. So magneto wants to kill her cuz she destroyed his world, mutants agree except wolverine, avengers want to protect her… I only say that cuz I’m sick of trying to get Phoenix right

I'm playing charades here. Looks like they're gonna fight, lol. Could this be a Deadpool vs Wolverine film? I guess it's pretty obvious.

Drace24 - 9/28/2022, 9:02 AM
I think this pretty much is how they will explain all that. They make a meta joke out of not explaining it. I mean... it's Deadpool.
